Whack-a-Plant is a 1-Player minigame in Mario Party. Its name and gameplay are based on the arcade game Whack-a-Mole.

Gameplay

The player simply needs to jump on the Piranha Plants to gain Coins as they pop out from pipes. The player can hold down A Button to jump farther. The number of Piranha Plants increases by one every time they come out, starting at one plant and increasing to eight, filling all but one pipe. One Coin is earned for each Piranha Plant that is stomped. This minigame can give the player up to 36 Coins. Special celebratory music plays if all 36 Coins are collected. If no Coins are collected, the minigame ends in a "Miss!" Unlike in other 1-Player minigames, when this minigame is lost, the player will not lose the usual five Coins.

Controls

  • A Button – Jump
