Mini Spek is spawned when the player uses an amiibo corresponding to a character who does not have a proper Mini Toy in the game. Unlike the other playable Mini Toys in the game, Mini Spek does not have any special abilities beyond what Mini Toys are capable of in the previous Mario vs. Donkey Kong games. There are no amiibo Tokens nor amiibo Doors for Mini Spek, so the player can only go up to Star 1 if Mini Spek is their only character.
