The intro has been expanded to discuss about the general overview of the game and the game's overall reception and legacy for video games, as well as its defining Mode 7 graphics. All empty sections have been filled, the reception and development sections has been expanded, and several new sections have been added, such as soundtrack and regional differences. All issues from its first failed nomination has been addressed, even if that nomination occurred quite a bit back. I think the article is in good enough shape to be featured for the main page.
