Template:Levelbox Switchback Hill, or Meringue Clouds-3, is the third level of Meringue Clouds in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is unlocked via completion of Land of Flying Blocks and its own completion opens the path to Slide Lift Tower.

Layout

The level takes place in a sky of white clouds and grassy platforms. The level is also infested with Bullet Bills. The main gimmick of this level are Switchbacks that help the player progress through the level.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: Near the very beginning of the level, the first Star Coin is in plain sight underneath an orange bridge. The player should take a Switchback while avoiding the Bullet Bills to safely reach the Star Coin. (see above)
  • Star Coin 2: Right before the midway point, there's a hidden green Warp Pipe above a Switchback. In the next area, the player must work their way through to reach the second Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 3: A POW Block can be hit to reveal the third Star Coin. However, the coin will fall on an unreachable Switchback. The player can either bounce off a Bullet Bill to reach it, or wait until the platform drops off the Star Coin.
