It appears only in volcanic areas such as Grim Volcano and Ancient Foundry; emerges from magma and ceilings. It attacks by firing out Black Fairies that form into an attack flying toward Donkey Kong. If it hits him, he loses beats (a heart in the New Play Control! version). Its attack can be repelled using the Sound Wave Attack to damage Tar Man, repeating this three or five times in a row will defeat it. Once Tar Man is defeated, eight bananas will be received.
