The Simian Slam is a move found in the game Donkey Kong 64. Similar to the Ground Pound from the Super Mario series, these moves are used to press and activate the Kong Switches. To perform a Simian Slam, the player will need to jump by pressing , then pressing
while airborne. There are three types of Simian Slams each for a different color switch: Simian Slam, Super Simian Slam, and Super Duper Simian Slam for the Green Kong Switch, Blue Kong Switch and Red Kong Switch respectively. The Simian Slam (Buttus Bashium) can be obtained from Cranky Kong for free in Kong Isle, the Super Simian Slam (Big Buttus Bashium) can be bought for five coins in Fungi Forest, and the Super Duper Simian Slam (Bigga Buttus Bashium) can be bought for nine coins in Creepy Castle. The Simian Slam potions are the only potions which affect all the Kongs, not only the Kong who bought it.
Although the Super Simian Slam and the Super Duper Simian Slam are both upgrades to the Simian Slam, they all do the same amount of damage to enemies. They do however, get new aesthetics added to them. The Simian Slam only makes a small green shockwave around the Kong. The Super Simian Slam makes a larger, blue shockwave when used and it also makes stars appear around the shockwave. Lastly, the Super Duper Simian Slam makes a red shockwave that is the same size as the Super Simian Slam's, and it also has the star effect, but brightly colored sparks will appear around the shockwave as well.
In the Donkey Kong in When the Banana Splits comic, Donkey Kong managed to defeat King K. Rool by Simian Slamming him. Both Donkey Kong's and Chunky Kong's variant of the Super Duper Simian Slam were also featured in the Donkey Kong Country trading card game based on the animated TV show of the same name.
