Donkey Kong exploring Jungle Japes in Donkey Kong 64.

Jungle Japes is the first level in Donkey Kong 64. It is located in Donkey Kong Island, and requires one Golden Banana (found near the entrance itself) to enter. Diddy Kong is held captive there.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee, it is set on a river, with three ledges made of wood, on which the players fight. There is a large platform, found in the center. This platform has another slightly smaller platform above it, which players are able to jump on. There is also two smaller platforms on the side, but because they are higher elevated, and they are seperated by the rapid water current, it makes it dangerous to jump on. There is also a Barrel Cannon underneath the stage. It passes through the water, allowing fallen players to land into it. If this happens, they will be able to shoot themselves back onto the stage, rather than lose a life. However, the Cannon spins around really fast, so it is easy to aim the player out of the stage. Klap Traps occasionally jump up to knock the players into the river, and will sometimes hide in the Barrel Cannon to stop players from entering it. The music of the stage is the main level music from Donkey Kong Land. Also, on the main platform, there is a cabin in the background, and if they zoom in on the window, they can see Cranky Kong's silhouette walking back and forth.
