Darkrai is a Dark-type Legendary Pokémon that first appeared in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It has the ability to put people to sleep and give them never-ending nightmares (though this is done as a defence mechanism rather than out of malice). In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, it can be spawned from a Poké Ball and attacks by using Dark Void, creating a large dark sphere around itself that puts any opponent that enters it to sleep and deals minor damage to them.

NA: This Dark-type Pokémon can cause people and other Pokémon to experience nightmares. While it is floating in the air, it tucks its legs in so far, it looks like they vanish! In battle it will use a move called Dark Void, which sucks in surrounding opponents and puts them into a deep sleep.
