This course features steep declines and sharp turns and lends itself to the frantic, roller coaster game play of Wario Colosseum from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. Most of the track lacks railings, making it rather easy to fall off the track. Additionally, this course employs Dash Panels. Swoops may slow down the players if they run into them. Inside the mine there are mine carts which act as obstacles.
A remix of this course's music is available to select for events in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

[[File:Wario's Gold Mine MKW Toad Screenshot.png|thumb| | This course takes place in an industrial gold mine, as seen by pipes with smoke coming out of them. The time of the day is at sunset, as seen in the background of this course. Most of the course takes place on wooden platforms, with tracks for the mine carts on them, even though the mine carts follow an entirely different track. Outside the mine, there is no activity going on except for the process of the smoke of the pipes. The entrance of the mine is filled with Swoopers. They act like obstacles for players, simply just slowing them down, touching them does not cause the player to spin out.
The | |||
Inside the mine, it is darker. Support beams can be seen. Driverless mine carts take gold from one place to another. At the exit of the mine is the start of the course. While the player can follow the flow of the course to the exit, they can also follow the mine carts to an alternate path.
Banners of Wario line the course, using his artwork from Super Mario 64 DS.
====Course layout====
| |||
The track first starts out with a very slight turn to the right. After the turn comes a Dash Panel that shoots players downhill at a speed to receive item boxes from below and back up. After that, there is a slight turn left. Players can see a half-pipe with item boxes on top of that. Past that to the right is a straight trestle across the gorge into the actual mine. In the tunnel to the mine, it is still relatively straight, except there are Swoops flying at the players.
After the Swoop area, players travel through an open cave. The track turns right into another downhill road, that goes uphill and into a ramp with a Dash Panel in it that launches the players to the other section of the mine. If players are careless in this area, they may fall into the darkness below when there are no guardrails to protect them. Mine carts are present, moving the same direction as the player. Any player who runs into the minecart flips and loses their item. The music in this area turns into a techno-styled variation of the main course music.
After this area is a turn to the right that leads the player into another dipping road that leads out of the gold mine. Above the entrance to this road is a sign of Wario pointing his fingers towards the course; playing as a Mii changes Wario's face to that of a random Mii. There is a small twisting path in the road, and if the player is careless, they could fall off. After the twist is a turn to the right at the finish line, where the lap restarts.
=====Shortcuts===== | |||
On the last turn before the entrance to the mine, as well as the last turn in the course itself, there are small ramps, which the player can also perform a trick on, allowing the player to cut the turns.
An alternate route to staying on the mine tracks is to follow the mine carts into a small tunnel with two dash panels. At the exit is a Dash Panel Ramp, which the player can perform a trick on. If the player forgets to turn after landing, they may fall off the edge of the track.
There is also | There is also a glitch where, at the beginning, the player can use a Mushroom and jump backwards off course, aiming for the pipe. They will respawn near the exit of the mine (though it is possible to perform the glitch without falling) and will get credit for the lap. The glitch is only possible in Mario Kart Wii.

In the first tournament of December 2008, players had to race against a giant Wiggler on this course. Only Triple Mushrooms and Stars would appear in Item Boxes. The tournament was later repeated as September 2010's second tournament.

Wario's Gold Mine | Wario's Gold Mine reappears in Mario Kart 8 as the first course of the Triforce Cup, part of the The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 downloadable content package and the base content of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The track banner has been redesigned. Inside the mine shaft there are anti-gravity tracks and the mine carts have changed shapes. The second dip inside the mine shaft has been removed, and tilted to become an anti-gravity section. Additionally, the mine carts now function as Spin Boost Pillars. The inside variation of the music has been removed, but Shy Guys can be seen and heard singing when entering the mine, like in Shy Guy Falls. The half-pipes have been removed, but in the place of the one after the slope is a shortcut with a Dash Panel at the end. The Dash Panel at the large slope towards the beginning is now not visible from the other side of the planks, although it is still there.
The banners now use Wario's artwork from Mario Party 8.
The | ====Staff ghost====
The staff ghost for this track is Wario on the Standard Kart, with a time of 2:19.782. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 200cc, the staff ghost is Waluigi with a time of 1:41.168.
