Wario's Gold Mine is the fourth and final course of the Flower Cup in Mario Kart Wii. This course features steep declines and sharp turns and lends itself to the frantic, roller coaster gameplay of Wario Colosseum from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. Swoops may slow down the players if they run into them. Inside the mine, there are mine carts which act as obstacles.
Wario's Gold Mine is a racecourse in Mario Kart Wii. This course features steep declines and sharp turns and lends itself to the frantic, roller coaster game play of Wario Colosseum from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. Most of the track lacks siding to allow players to unintentionally fall off. Additionally, this course employs Boost Pads. Swoopers may slow down the players if they run into them. During the climactic segments of the race, Minecarts appear with Wario's signature dark purple "W" on them to give players a few intended obstacles as they reach the finish line.

Wario's Gold Mine returns as a classic course as the first course of the Triforce Cup in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Description
This course takes place in an industrial mine, as seen by pipes with smoke coming out of them. The time of the day is at sunset, as seen in the background of this course. Outside the mine, there is no activity going on except for the process of the smoke of the pipes. The entrance of the mine is filled with Swoopers. They act like obstacles for players, simply just slowing him or her down.

An arrangement of this course's music is available to select for events in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
Inside the mine, it is darker. Activity is going on with the mine carts from a black area and into some parts of the track, where they act as obstacles for players. The minecarts are taking gold from one place to another endlessly. At the exit of the mine is the start of the course.

Course layout
The course begins with a slight right turn where the track immediately narrows and racers must begin driving on a track made of wooden planks and rails. After a slight left turn, the track quickly curves downward and racers drive downhill while using a dash panel. The track then curves upwards and racers drive uphill until it evens out. The first set of Item Boxes can be found on this part between the downhill and uphill track. After a left turn, racers encounter a U-turn where they can either stay on the track as normal, use a small ramp to cut off part of the turn, or go to the outside of the turn where there is a half-pipe with three Item Boxes above it. The track then goes through a tunnel where racers must avoid swarms of Swoops while making two slight turns. After the tunnel, racers enter a huge cavern where the mine is located. A more techno-styled variation of the music plays while racers are inside the mine. They then turn right once again before the track curves downward and then upward as it did at the beginning of the track, ending with a dash panel ramp and another item set floating above.

The track that racers land on is now wider than before, but one of the rails on the track is actively being used by minecarts that travel in the same direction as racers and will make them flip over when hit. However, every other minecart has an Item Box trailing close behind. The minecart rail starts on the left side of the track but then briefly goes down the middle and then onto the right side as the track narrows, before quickly curving back over to the left side. As this happens racers must make a few slight turns, and are then encouraged to turn right as the minecart rail separates from the track. At this part, there is a picture of Wario above the track; if a player is racing as a Mii, Wario's face on the picture will be replaced with a random Mii's face. When turning right they immediately encounter another item set before driving on a shortened version of the downhill-uphill shape found earlier in the track. When the track evens out, racers return outside and must take a slight left turn followed by a slight right turn before driving straight. Below the brief straight there are some pipes which will occasionally produce exhaust that partially blocks racers' vision. After this, a 90° turn to the right brings racers to the finish line. To the left of the finish line there is another half-pipe and two more Item Boxes.
Course Layout
The track first starts out with a very slight turn to the right. After the turn comes a boost panel that shoots players downhill at a speed to receive item boxes from below and back up. After that, there is a slight turn left. Players can see a half-pipe with item boxes on top of that. Past that to the right is a straight path to the beginning of the actual mine. In the tunnel to the mine, it is still relatively straight, except there are Swoopers to act as moving obstacles for players.

There is also an alternate route: If racers follow the minecart rail instead of turning right when it separates from the track, they can enter an alternate route that is much more narrow but contains two dash panels. At the first dash panel is a pair of Item Boxes. Taking this route requires racers to make a right turn and then a slight left turn before reaching a dash panel ramp that will lead them outside to the brief straight at the end.

After the Swooper area is the inside of the mine. The player continues and turns right into another downhill road that goes uphill and into a ramp with a boost panel in it that launches the players to the other section of the mine. If players are careless in this area, they may fall into the darkness below when there are no guardrails to protect them. Mine carts are present, moving the same direction as the player. Any player who runs into the minecart flips and lose his or her item. Item boxes trail behind the minecart.

Glitches
After this area is a turn to the right that leads the player into another dipping road that leads out of the gold mine. There is a small twisting path in the road, and if the player may also be careless, he or she could fall off. After the twist is a turn to the right at the finish line, where the lap restarts.
There is a large glitch shortcut at the starting line. The player must turn around shortly after the starting line, use a Mushroom, and jump onto a pipe below the brief straight at the end of the track. If the player is not counted out of bounds, they will bounce off the pipe and onto the track by passing through its underside. They should then go back to the cave exit and then proceed normally. If the glitch is done correctly, the lap will count. Alternatively, if the player goes out of bounds, they can still perform the glitch so long as they respawn before the final turn.

December 2008's first tournament required players to complete a race against a Big Wiggler on Wario's Gold Mine. Item Boxes would contain only Triple Mushrooms and Stars. The tournament was later repeated as September 2010's second tournament.

Shortcuts
There is one shortcut in this course. It is visible in the pre-course introduction. To use the shortcut, the player must follow the minecarts into a small tunnel with two dash panels. To exit the tunnel, he or she must follow it until the player reaches the exit of the cave, which in turn is the exit of the entire mine. At the exit is a Dash Panel Ramp, which the player can perform a trick on. If the player carelessly forgets to turn after landing, they may fall off the edge of the track.
Wario's Gold Mine makes its classic course debut in Mario Kart 8 as the first course of the Triforce Cup, part of the The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 downloadable content package and the base content of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The layout has undergone quite a few major changes. The starting line is now fully covered on the right side by guard rails. The outside of the U-turn near the beginning has been completely changed; the half-pipe and Item Boxes are gone and the outside of the turn is instead slightly lower than the main track, and ends in a dash panel. At the end of the subsequent tunnel, racers pass over an Antigravity Panel. The segment between the tunnel and the dash panel ramp has been completely changed to immediately have a set of Item Boxes followed by a right turn and a left turn, with no downhill. It still ends in a dash panel ramp but does not have Item Boxes above the ramp. In the minecart section, the minecarts behave as Spin Boost Pillars instead of obstacles, and do not have Item Boxes trailing behind. Along the subsequent alternate route, a fence now prevents racers from falling off the right side. As racers return outside, they exit Anti-gravity mode. Along the brief straight at the end, the left side is fully covered by guard rails and the pipes below the track are gone. A small ramp now lines the inside of the final turn similar to the U-turn near the beginning. The second half-pipe and Item Boxes to the left of the finish line are gone. Lastly, Double Item Boxes appear at the second and last item sets in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
<br clear=all>

The course has also received numerous visual and auditory changes. The starting banner has been redesigned, connecting its structure to a large pulley wheel, as well as using the modern Mario Kart logo. The track inside the mine is noticeably darker, though all rails on the track are a light blue during the anti-gravity section. The minecarts have also received visual redesigns to reflect their anti-gravity state and new functionality. A proper arch bridge now supports the brief straight at the end of the track. The techno-styled variation of the music has been removed, but Shy Guys can be seen and heard singing when entering the mine, like in Shy Guy Falls.

In the first tournament of December 2008, players had to race against a giant Wiggler on this course. Only Triple Mushrooms and Stars would appear in Item Boxes. The tournament was later repeated as September 2010's second tournament.

Trivia
Trivia
*In Mario Kart Wii, the banners of Wario use his artwork from Super Mario 64 DS. In Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, these banners instead use his artwork from Mario Party 8.
*Playing as a Mii will change Wario's face to a random Mii in the mine, right between the passageway to leave.
*The overall aesthetic and setting of the track seems to be inspired by the mining town in the Studio Ghibli film Castle in the Sky.
