PMTOK story[edit]
I understand the game has been leaked but you need to source that information. You might know it's correct but others won't. It's still upcoming content. Mario JC 00:06, July 13, 2020 (EDT)
"You"[edit]
Avoid using "you" on articles. Instead, we use "the player" or the character's name. Mario JC 23:27, August 4, 2020 (EDT)
Please stop writing in second-person on articles on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |

Aboutfile and categories[edit]
Hey, thanks for your recent uploads. However please remember to correctly fill the Aboutfile template and to categorise the image by game. For example, use this code:

Thanks and keep contributing.

Hello, Raymondsze. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Additionally, you need to place the image on a page to use it. In this case, you were replacing the jpg variant of File:PMTOK Group Artwork.png, so you should swap the links that lead to that image with the new one you uploaded. 13:30, August 17, 2020 (EDT)
- Please take a closer look at the information above. You are using when it should be . 16:11, August 20, 2020 (EDT)
Hello, Raymondsze. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below. Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. A description of the image subject (parameter |
If you don't need to use any of the parameters in the aboutfile template, you can just remove them. Leaving them up categorizes the image as having a broken template. Additionally, files need to have a descriptive name rather than whatever "Pera Albedo.0021.png" means. 09:47, September 7, 2020 (EDT)
Titles[edit]
Please remember to italicise all game and series titles you name (e.g. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Paper Mario series) per MarioWiki:Manual of Style#Italicizing titles. Mario JC 23:10, September 7, 2020 (EDT)
Logos[edit]
Doesn't matter if userpages are using old logos for certain websites, there's really no need to replace them with the new ones if userpages are the only ones using them. Modifying the userpage content itself should also be avoided when making maintenance edits. Mario JC 02:25, October 4, 2020 (EDT)
Regarding icons used in important pages like Shroom pages and templates, it would be best to ask the Shroom staff or discuss first before considering replacing them. Mario JC 02:36, October 4, 2020 (EDT)
- I just want to reinforce the above- please don't modify other user's personal images without their permission. Also, your reupload of the File:Twitter follow.png button did cause some headaches among the staff due to the increase in size as well as the poor transparent edges. We appreciate you trying to update it though- but keep in mind for both 'Shroom and personal images, ask permission first.
- Additionally, do be more careful when replacing images. These were in fact different logos.
Also, if you're replacing a png with an identical svg, make sure the png is cleared of any articles linking it and mark it for deletion with delete, as it's no longer needed. Mario JC 20:29, October 4, 2020 (EDT)
File:Media DL icon.svg[edit]
Can you mention where specifically on Nintendo's website you got this from? Mario JC 23:40, October 18, 2020 (EDT)
- Thanks, but we'd appreciate if you could link it if possible.
SVGs[edit]
Please add sources to your uploads so we know that the SVG files are official (including this one). Mario JC 08:55, September 23, 2023 (EDT)
Upcoming content[edit]
Please remember to cite all edits on upcoming games with references, even if the source can be easily found, or even if the game is several days away from release. This goes for all future upcoming games. Mario JC 00:35, May 19, 2024 (EDT)
^ This again; cite your edits for upcoming content or they're getting removed. Mario JC 09:46, October 11, 2024 (EDT)
File:PMTOK Mario sprite.png[edit]
Hey, I noticed that you uploaded a larger version of the sprite. The two are different however, so can you upload the smaller version as a separate image?
