Scuffle Island location[edit]
Head left immediately upon entering The Great Sea from Toad Town, and you'll come across it right away. Just keep in mind that talk pages are only supposed to be used for discussing changes or improvements to the article. Nightwicked Bowser
Ok, I was just saying that they should have added the location ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ PROPLAYEN (talk) 19:57, August 2, 2020 (EDT)
- Well you could have made that more clear then, the way you put it looked like forum talk. I'll be sure to look at its location on the sea chart next time I jump on the game. Nightwicked Bowser
Uploads[edit]
Hello, PROPLAYEN. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below. Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, PROPLAYEN. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Thanks for reading, and keep conributing! --DarkNight 22:59, August 4, 2020 (EDT)
- In response to your question here, the warning should only apply if you are misusing the aboutfile, not outright removing it. That means how you uploaded File:Big Sho Theater.jpg and File:Glitch Image.jpg is incorrect, any placeholder parameters should be corrected or removed, as the information above describes. The aboutfile may not show up if you upload a specific way (I forget which way, I think from a red link), in which case, there's no problem. 22:51, August 7, 2020 (EDT)
Your last uploads were missing categories and licenses. Since you can, upload the same way you did with File:PMTOK Glitched House.jpg, through Special:Upload, not the text editor's uploader. You correctly added the license and description there; the only other error was that the category was incorrectly linked. It should be
, not
(no curly brackets, must begin with "Category:" and end with "Images"). Please read the above notices carefully; if you're not sure of anything, don't hesitate to ask. Mario JC 00:12, August 8, 2020 (EDT)
Also, if there's an infobox on the page with no image, place the image in the infobox instead of as a thumbnail. The method for doing so changes depending on the infobox type, so check the template page (or other articles that use the infobox) to see how it's incorporated (so if the infobox is "location infobox", check Template:Location infobox; the image is then placed like this). Hello, PROPLAYEN. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must apply the proper license. A full list of licenses can be found in the file copyright tags category, but the following are the most common:
When uploading, select the license from the drop-down box below the summary text box, or add the license manually after uploading or if you're using the upload function from the text editor. For example, artwork of Mario would use character-artwork. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Don't include multiple copyright templates; choose the one that you feel best fits the file. If you continue uploading files without applying the correct license, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Please keep the above reminders in mind. Uploading an image with no info is fine, but the info should be added in as quick as possible. 23:35, August 8, 2020 (EDT)
Article creation[edit]
There seems to be a lot you need to know before you create anymore articles. Game titles need to be italicised so for example Paper Mario: The Origami King must be formatted like Paper Mario: The Origami King. The exact date is also not necessary, only the year, so it would only need to say "2020". The very top of the article also must have a brief description of the subject, which the first mention of the subject is bolded and the game is mentioned in the first sentence. Lastly, we don't use the word "you" when referring to the player. We say either the name of the playable character or "the player" depending of the situation. You should take a look at MarioWiki:Manual of Style for more guidelines. Nightwicked Bowser
- You also don't need to link every instance of where names are used like you did with Professor Toad and others. Only the first time the name is used warrants a link. Nightwicked Bowser
