You're still not properly citing sources after being told on your IP talk page. Please don't simply paste a plain link onto the page and follow MarioWiki:Citations when referencing videos, otherwise a reminder will be issued. Mario JC 18:44, January 30, 2021 (EST)
Also, avoid content and terminology about world records; they are not part of our coverage. Mario JC 18:52, January 30, 2021 (EST)
When citing a source, make sure to add the following at the bottom of the page above the navigation templates and categories, if there isn't one already:

Uploads[edit]
Hello, JJRC. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, JJRC. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must apply the proper license. A full list of licenses can be found in the file copyright tags category, but the following are the most common:
When uploading, select the license from the drop-down box below the summary text box, or add the license manually after uploading or if you're using the upload function from the text editor. For example, artwork of Mario would use character-artwork. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Don't include multiple copyright templates; choose the one that you feel best fits the file. If you continue uploading files without applying the correct license, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, JJRC. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below. Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
A few other things:
- Please don't make an edit then revert it, as this floods the history page and recent changes. Next time, use the "Show preview" button to see what your edit looks like before you publish it.
- Give your uploads a descriptive file name. Don't simply use the default file name.
- Avoid uploading duplicate files.
Help:Image explains how you add an image. You only need the file name, not the entire URL:

As for the image itself... you should probably start a discussion first on whether this "checkpoint system" should be covered or not, considering past discussions of similarly technical concepts and few (like this) being taken down. Many users won't know what these checkpoints are just based on the image and caption, and to explain it seems like it would take a separate page. Additionally, this diagram is crudely made; I'd suggest a cleaner version that doesn't look like a quick MS Paint image.
If you're having trouble with edits, don't be afraid to ask around. Mario JC 07:41, February 16, 2021 (EST)
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (not categorising and licensing files) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site. If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Your recent upload have not followed these, including not giving your file names more appropriate names. Please read the above reminders again.
Also, don't remove the "" at the end, otherwise you're leaving broken coding. Mario JC 06:45, April 24, 2021 (EDT)
Please read through the blue box reminder. You add a category link based on what game it's from (e.g.
), not like "Game maps
" (which generates a broken link as it doesn't exist) or navigation templates like Glitches. Mario JC 07:53, April 24, 2021 (EDT)
Please stop reuploading the same map image. I've already explained why it's currently not acceptable above the warning. You're also still not categorising properly; it's
with square brackets (not curly) and the "Category:" prefix, not Mario Kart Wii Images
. Mario JC 08:10, April 24, 2021 (EDT)
Hi there,
Sorry for my various coding and formatting mistakes, I’m very much a noob here. I only reuploaded the map image to try and categorise it correctly, not to engage in an editing war. Also, I realise that out-of-context it appears like too technical an image to add, but I’m currently working on an article in which it would be extremely relevant.
Apologies for my incompetence once again.

- It's okay, mistakes are common early on. Though as I mentioned in a previous post, I recommend gathering some consensus on this article first (or even start a proposal to gain more attention) on a talk page before going ahead with this, to be safe (Talk:Mario Kart Wii is a good place). Reason being if you do go ahead and create it, given the technicality of the concept and how unusual it is to our coverage, it may be met with users asking if this is really needed and considering it for deletion. Make sure the article also follows MarioWiki:Manual of Style.
- Also, try to use images as soon as they're uploaded. Help:Image and Help:Gallery show how they can be added. Mario JC 09:00, April 24, 2021 (EDT)
