The 'Shroom:Issue 173/The 'Shroom Spotlight
Hello readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.
Welcome to the August edition of Spotlight, where we round out the summer focuses and I slap 876 for using the Bri ish variant of "favorite" three times last issue. Doesn't he know about our grammar policy? Anyway, hope you are all being safe out there and doing what you need to do to protect yourselves. Just remember: If you are locked in your homes and have nothing to do, Spotlight is always here for you! ...Hey, that can be our slogan!
Despite some slaps, we actually did quite well last edition, with four out of our six focuses having been complete. Thankfully both of our Yoshi focuses were done, with WildWario (talk) creating Mobile and expanded the stub section for Goonie. We must also note that Zootalo (talk) added information for their appearance in Nintendo Puzzle Collection, which was missing. We also have thanks to give to LuigiMaster123 (talk) who heavily expanded and improved Water Geyser and found an image for Masayoshi Ishi.
And now onto this month's focuses:
Article | Category | Focuses |
---|---|---|
Mario Golf: Super Rush is the latest entry in the Mario Golf series, and as such we don't have all the necessary articles for it. One such instance is the beginner course, Rookie Course, so let's grab our clubs, head for the green, and make this article! | ||
We really don't have a lot for this iteration from the Skylanders series. What do you have to do / scan to get this transformation? The attacks are bolstered by fire, but do they deal more damage, can they break normally unbreakable blocks, etc.? And it also appears in Skylanders Imaginators and yet there's no information about its appearance in that game here. | ||
Considering Daisy is a major character in the Super Mario Bros. movie and appears throughout it, you'd think there'd be more to tell about her. Apparently, she just disappears partway through the movie. Don't remember that happening. | ||
It's pretty common knowledge nowadays that the European version of Luigi's Mansion's Hidden Mansion is different than what is in the American version. One such difference is the amount of gold, with the maximum possible amount of money being raised from 142,390,000G to 186,440,000G. We have a source for this information in the "Hidden Mansion" section, but the link no longer goes where it should, so if someone knows where else to find this information, the link should be replaced. | ||
There are many images missing for DK: Jungle Climber, mainly in regards to the sprites. We have six subjects needing an image to show them off, being one enemy and five items. Has anyone ripped them for use yet? | ||
The Mario Quiz cards may be one of the lesser known things from the series, but they're pretty neat. And what would be even neater, is if instead of a photo of the card, we could have it scanned in. |
Now just before I leave you, we'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently sixteen that need to be implemented, some of which date back to 2018, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed. Additionally, there are many unresolved discussions that we would love to see come to some sort of conclusion. Some might have already concluded and just need the template removed, others have been waiting for a response for years.
Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact us on Yoshi876's talk page or Alex95's talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
