The 'Shroom:Issue 165/Pipe Plaza
Director’s Notes
Hello readers and welcome to December! The nightmare year is almost over!! I'm gonna keep things short and simple here because I don't have any brainpower to think of anything creative or funny this time around.
So, usual announcements. If you like what you see in Pipe Plaza and are wanting to join in the fun, consider checking out the sign up page to look for ideas! Additionally, congratulations to Anton and Turb, who will once again be our Awards Director and Sub-Director for 2021's Awards!
Happy Holidays and enjoy the rest of the month~

Poll Committee Discussion
Hello, 'Shroom readers! It's ya boy Superchao here, somehow doing too much work with too little time yet again. Please stop me from signing up for everything. Please
The News
We don't have much news this time around! The main thing is that Power Flotzo (talk), BBQ Turtle (talk), and Lakituthequick (talk) have all done their two-week terms, showing the success of the concept so far. As we go along, the Poll Committee's gonna be collaborating with other groups and projects to try and see how we can help. Look forward to that!

Analyses
When developing remakes, where do you feel Nintendo should mostly focus?
Unsurprisingly, the kind of game people most want to see is "flawed but salvageable" games. That's one of the purposes of a remake, after all! The chance to go in and correct what was bad about the original... though not always, considering how many remakes are of perfectly well-received games. What surprised me was the second place being "just remake anything!" - I wouldn't have expected that personally, considering that some of the negatively-received remakes were ones that just took something recent and added more. Look at the general reaction to the Bowser's Inside Story remake! Perhaps people just want easier access to games and new stuff to justify it? Just... yeah. Don't make it limited time. Artificial scarcity is bad and I'm glad to see how many people agree.
Are you satisfied with Nintendo's announced releases for Super Mario's 35th anniversary?
A whopping 40% of our voters were for a new game! Which... yeah, I can't blame them. To be fair, there were only a handful of Nintendo games this year in general considering Everything Going On, but even then, Mario's their flagship series, and besides Paper Mario and Mario Kart Live, all we got were slightly polished remasters that get discontinued to encourage artificial scarcity. Good ol' corporate mechanics. What surprised me more, though, was the nearly 30% who were all "that's good stuff". Admittedly, the merch does help, as does the upcoming theme park - if it ever opens - but I was expecting a lot more negative reactions. Mario being Mario tends to make things work out, I guess!
Conclusion
Two polls in a row about the anniversary, huh? Well, considering what wiki we're on, you shouldn't be surprised. There's a lot of potential to talk about there! Perhaps we'll get more... you'll find out soon, when you see the next polls!
