Template talk:Koopas
I'm confused. Was this template meant to be for Koopa related species or Koopa characters?Knife (talk)
Font[edit]
Whys the text so small? Its barely readable. XzelionETC
- It's probably just to save space in the overall template. I can read it fine, but I guess it could be enlarged. YELLOWYOSHI398
Buzzy Beetles[edit]
Should we include them? They're not too far off from Spinys (which are included); plus there's Bony Beetles, which are somewhere in between. The Buzzy article also says they're more like Koopas than Beetles... - Walkazo
Confused by this template[edit]
I'm not exactly sure what goes into this template? We have Clubba, Koopeleon, Spike, and others. Shouldn't we just merge everything just as how {{Super Mario games}} puts everything into one nav template? This template is supposed to be a dumping ground for miscellaneous Koopas, but if that's the case, I think it's rather misleading since there is hardly anything in this template that indicates that, giving it an incomplete look. - I suppose we could change the header to "Miscellaneous Koopas", but imo, the fact that it does only have Koopas that won't fit in any of the other templates in itself makes it clear that it's meant for these sorts of misc. Koopas. It's worked perfectly well in that capacity for seven years (since this unanimously supported proposal) with only two attempts to add representatives of other major species groups and one attempt to re-add Koopa Troopas, so evidently, it's not that confusing. I don't really think that merging all the templates into one giant directory is a good idea; if it were just species to deal with, perhaps it could work (I once made one like that or fun on my userspace), but with all the characters, it'll get pretty unwieldy. We don't have a choice but to have large templates when it comes to series, games, subpages or single species like humans, but we do here, and I think the status quo works fine. - Walkazo 19:46, 5 November 2015 (EST)
- I admit, I was was confused at first, so I do feel the template gives the wrong impression anyhow (so I think flawed, but doing its job) and I was almost going to add the rest of the representatives if it weren't for the edit history. I think other people may think the template look incomplete. I think renaming the header to "Miscellaneous Koopas" is good enough though, so is it okay if we just do that?. Mario-HOHO! - Better safe than sorry, I guess, although I also feel like admitting it's "Misc. Koopas" might lessen the template's legitimacy to some - although these Koopas definitely do need something, so either way, it's easy to argue that the template's good to keep around. I'll hold off on making the change until this evening or tomorrow, just in case anyone else has anything to add. (Sidebar: the problem with adding representatives is that then it does start to look incomplete: it'd look inconsistent with the Clubbas and Spikes that have more than the representatives, and there could be disagreements about some things not getting representatives here, such as the Strikers species lumped in with the Koopa Troopas, and whatnot.) - Walkazo 09:44, 6 November 2015 (EST)

Separate template for Spikes[edit]
Could we please add a template for spikes? About half the species on this template are for Spike subspecies, and as such I feel they no longer qualify for "miscellaneous" anymore. - Doc von Schmeltwick 23:19, 22 June 2017 (CT)
- Also, I think Tutankoopa should be on the "Koopa Troopas" template instead, as he resembles them (having a beak, etc). - Doc von Schmeltwick 23:27, 22 June 2017 (CT)
