Talk:Tileoid

Should this article be deleted? It describes a purely hypothetical parent species, and I know we've deleted those in the past (though I can't think of any specific examples at the moment). --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 20:44, March 30, 2021 (EDT)

Another article like this is the Finley article. I think at best these articles could be converted into disambiguation pages. Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 20:53, March 30, 2021 (EDT)
Definitely delete. This is the exact same situation as Puff (species), and we all know how that went. Niiue - Who has lost his tail? 21:00, March 30, 2021 (EDT)

See comments above. While there's indeed no point in having an article on a hypothetical parent species, this one is unique in that no one member can easily be considered the obvious parent species. (You could argue that it would be Tileoid G, but that's still a bit of a stretch.) So then, what should we do with this article?

Delete[edit]

  1. Archivist Toadette (talk) Second choice.

Convert to disambiguation page[edit]

  1. Archivist Toadette (talk) Preferred option.
  2. Waluigi Time (talk) Sure, why not.
  3. Alex95 (talk) - Kind of already a disambig anyway.
  4. Keyblade Master (talk) As I said above.
  5. TheFlameChomp (talk) Per all.
  6. Hewer (talk) Per Alex95.
  7. Niiue (talk) Per all.
  8. RHG1951 (talk) Magiblot is already like this.
  9. BigBowserBoss (talk) Disambiguate with all the different Tileoid colours.

Keep as is[edit]

Should the same thing happen for Finley as well? Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 21:16, March 30, 2021 (EDT)

Not really, since in that case Blue Finleys are clearly meant to be the parent species, seeing as how Red Finleys are slightly less common, and Green Finleys are rather rare. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 21:21, March 30, 2021 (EDT)
I don't know if I'd count that as sufficient proof that one variant is meant to be the parent species, though. Niiue - Who has lost his tail? 23:59, April 6, 2021 (EDT)
