Name[edit]

For future reference, the enemies from this game have their name derived from their internal filename, not romanization. Like Brickman and other enemies. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi at 03:56, 14 December 2018 (EST)

Brickman does, that's not our reference for Tane Pakkun though. But they could be the same thing. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 11:16, 14 December 2018 (EST)

...Did Viridi not mention this one in Smash Ultimate? 67.181.156.89 21:39, January 30, 2024 (EST)

Rename to Piranha Plant[edit]

Considering how a lot of the MVDK enemies are now named after their internal file name, I suggest we rename this to Piranha Plant (Mario vs. Donkey Kong).--104.28.57.219 09:04, March 12, 2024 (EDT)

Question is, do we consider this a "toy" counterpart? LinkTheLefty (talk) 21:51, March 12, 2024 (EDT)
It was specifically excluded from the proposal. I personally kinda wanna wait and see if any supplemental materials are created for the game that might help. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:36, March 12, 2024 (EDT)
Would it be feasible to use a derived name for this enemy? Or no? The remake changed these enemies to spit out fireballs instead of seeds, so I'm really hesitant on using the "Seed Piranha Plant" derived name for this article. But I'd say let me know what you think. --CyonOfGaia (talk) 08:20, January 4, 2025 (EST)
It was never really clear in the original if they were seeds or fireballs; note their predecessors in DK94 spit seeds, these spit vague orange things, and later Piranha Plants in the MvsDK series just spit fire. I think it's always been kinda open to interpretation. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 11:07, January 4, 2025 (EST)

Did Viridi mention this Piranha Plant in Super Smash Bros Ultimate?[edit]

This question may be dumb since they don't have an official name, but if they weren't mentioned, I feel like they should be merged with Fire Piranhas. Their "seeds" are more fireballs than seeds, and this is more seen in the Switch remake, where you can accurately see fireballs.--ToadMushroom823 (talk) 19:06, December 30, 2024 (EST)

They weren't, and they probably are meant to be fireballs, but I don't think the guidance is a good metric there since plenty of others from miscellaneous games also didn't get mentioned. Seeing as how we treat the fire-spitting Piranha Plants in later MvsDK games, we may just want to merge this with Piranha Plant as well. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:02, December 30, 2024 (EST)
