The Fortune Street series also uses a board game theme. Also, world maps in many, many, many games have their bases in board game design, including the use of spaces for level icons and other such things. I don't see why this should be focused exclusively on the Mario Party series, especially considering Start Space has the wider definition that I mentioned.
