Well, this article has the f word in it at the bottom. Should there be some warning, or should we censor it since it isn't a quote (Bob Hoskins, anyone?) uper-Yoshi 23:38, 2 March 2009 (EST)
- There is no need to censor, as the information is presented in an academic way (i.e., it's not being used as a swear word, but to inform people about different versions of the show). -- Son of Suns (talk)
- A lot of stuff on this wiki could offend people (like the Underwhere, or even Mario's relationship with Princess Peach), but our goal is to cover all aspects of the Mario series. The word itself is not directed at anyone specifically, so it is not a curse word no matter what. "Fuck" is simply a word - only some people consider it a curse word. -- Son of Suns (talk)
- Hmmm...well, that function is not used on the Bob Hoskins page anymore. It is simply censored. Anyways, I don't think we need to censor the page. Wikipedia doesn't (just think about all the potentially offensive articles there!), and if we want to be considered a legitimate, informative wiki, we shouldn't either. -- Son of Suns (talk)
- Again, that would be a form of censorship, and who knows where it could lead? Once we censor one thing, someone may want to censor the List of Implied Locations page for talking about Hell, or the Daisy article because she shows her midriff. So I think it's best that we keep things open. If someone personally does not like reading that word, they don't have to read the article again. -- Son of Suns (talk)
