Redirect?

Hey. So, I assumed that this page was not necessary anymore, because minigame modes had been transformed into redirects in the past (such as with Mario Party 9), and the article is not really in the best shape (for one, it assumes it to be a minigame rather than a minigame mode). However, when I turned this page into a redirect it was reverted, suggesting I need a proposal first. Before I go and do that, is this really necessary? BMfan08 (talk) 08:57, June 3, 2021 (EDT)

It wouldn't hurt to do so. Besides, there are some game modes like Super Duel Mode or Test for the Best that are so expansive that they do, in fact, warrant their own articles. ^(T|C) 13:32, June 3, 2021 (EDT)

Okay, I guess I'll leave this brief. I found this article in a state of disarray (though this can be fixed). I probably was a little hasty to make a redirect, so it's time we discuss this. There were several proposals like this one to turn minigame modes into redirects (For examples, see here and here). However, as Archivist Toadette pointed out above, modes like Super Duel Mode and Test for the Best do have their own articles. In my opinion, Mount Duel seems too short and filled with fluff to warrant its own article, and it doesn't have many links to it, but I want to see what others think.

I don't agree that this needs a proposal. Mount Duel is not even remotely comparable to Super Duel Mode, which is a whole side game in and of itself. Test for the Best is iffy given that we don't have articles on the minigame decathlon modes it's obviously based on, but at least there's a good chunk of information there that helps justify its existence. Mount Duel is just another dime-a-dozen minigame competition mode, which we have already agreed to merge in the past. All this does is delay the inevitable for two weeks. 16:29, June 3, 2021 (EDT)

I think having a proposal is the best way to ensure that merging things is a good idea regardless of similar merge proposals, rather than just doing it without even getting other people's opinions on the matter. Nightwicked Bowser 17:08, June 3, 2021 (EDT)
