Talk:Battle Card (Paper Mario: Color Splash)
Pasted[edit]
This page is basically all the information of Sticker Star's stickers, why couldn't we've just put all the Color Splash ones and marked the page with {{Construction}}. It makes the page look lazy with the exact information from another page pasted onto this one. (talk) (edits) 19:56, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
- The time you spent complaining about it, someone already tagged it with a construction tag. Ray Trace(T|C) 19:59, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
- Dude. Page was just created. Sure, could've spent more time on it in a Sandbox or something, but no need to be rude about this. Eldritchdraaks (talk) is a fairly new user. 20:02, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
- OMG I am so sorry I wasn't trying to be mean I didn't know he was the creator of this page. (talk) (edits) 20:04, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
- Check your facts because your make accusations, like the history sections. Also, maybe you should partake in a heavy project like this yourself at one point, you'll find yourself using other tables as templates. A lot. The edit summary of Eldritchdraaks even said he was using this as a base. Ray Trace(T|C) 20:07, 23 October 2016 (EDT)

Huey and Black Bowser's castle.[edit]
Should the Huey card and the Black Bowser's castle card be listed as well? Huey is used in the final battle the Black Bowser's Castle isn't used but it does get turned into a battle card end game.Pikmin theories (talk) 11:29, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- Feel free to add them if you want. 11:54, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- I'd say to wait, the table of Enemy Cards is going to arrive soon, as the sprites of most of the cards have been uploaded yesterday. If those cards still aren't uploaded after the addition of the table, I'll look for them in the sprite sheets and add them.--Mister Wu (talk) 12:25, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
What about Black Bowser's castle though? It doesn't get used but it does get turned into a battle card.Pikmin theories (talk) 14:43, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- It's best to ignore the list of enemy cards currently up. When I finish with the table, it'll include Black Bowser's Castle.-- 14:45, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- I am pretty sure that Black Bowser's Castle is a thing card. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 14:48, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- It's not. It's an enemy card.-- 15:04, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- Strange. I saw it in a video about all the things. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 15:06, 25 October 2016 (EDT)

I thought you couldn't do anything with it? I thought it would've been a thing too, cause like things they're wrung out.... but then again so is Huey.... but would Huey count as a thing though.......Pikmin theories (talk) 15:59, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- Black Bowser's castle wasn't a thing. It was made of paper and cardboard like the rest of the environment. Things are 3D objects that aren't made of paper, which is why Huey is a thing.-- 16:56, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
Good point, I guess by things we were thinking like objects. although one major difference between things and Huey is that he's a person so maybe have him in an other battle cards section like Kersti's in an other sticker section?Pikmin theories (talk) 17:27, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- Also, there are replica Huey cards in the game's data, though I believe they are unobtainable. I guess I'll just add Huey to the things list, rather than make a whole new one. What do other people think should be done with the Huey card?-- 17:51, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
I vote for other cards section!Pikmin theories (talk) 17:59, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
With the very few cards that are different from the others, I don't support. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 18:01, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
I thought the same thing mister, I just voted for the new section cause that's how it is with kersti and there's only two in the other sticker category, The Huey card is kind of an enigma I guess, It's a thing card, but at the same time it's not since it can't be bought at the wringer.Pikmin theories (talk) 20:09, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
Or am IÞŸȳŷüûůŨŨÙ? Pikmin theories (talk) 20:56, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
If Black Bowser's Castle is a Enemy card, why then can a player use it against Black Bowser if they replay the level? Yoshi the SSM (talk) 17:17, 18 November 2016 (EST)
adding a thing article.[edit]
Now that Things have been in another game, should a Thing article be created instead of redirecting to Stickers (Sticker Star)?Pikmin theories (talk) 22:09, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
- It should be, as they are indeed an important element of the last two Paper Mario games, but honestly, I don't think I will be able to do it myself soon.--Mister Wu (talk) 22:17, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
Split[edit]
So, here's something I've been meaning to bring up for a long time.
Why is every attack in the game crammed into a single list article?
- They're each different attacks. Some have different action commands, they all do different amounts of damage, have different strengths and weaknesses, different buy and sell values, different descriptions, different sprites, different animations...
- Each attack from the first two games are split.
- Linking to Worn-Out Jump is easier than Battle Card (Paper Mario: Color Splash)#Worn-Out Jump
- Some of these attacks are also in Sticker Star.
- Things are special attacks that have different locations, different prices, different descriptions, designs, and animations, hints as to where each one is... All of them are required to beat the game.
I propose splitting each type of card (so KO Hammer would have its own page, also covering Big KO Hammer and Huge KO Hammer). Enemy Cards can stay in a list because they aren't really different enough to warrant a split. Things should all get their own pages. Scrooge200 (talk) 22:48, December 15, 2019 (EST)
- Actually, there is much more data associated to the summoned enemies, in any case lists and in-depth pages aren’t mutually exclusive and these lists are always useful. There likely weren’t enough people who worked on documenting the game to create the individual pages, and there is actually even more important information to be added here: we have the cost in paint units (column 3-5 of the weaponDataTable) and the attack power (column 20 onwards) of each attack. Individual pages would require a template to add that information, while here we can reorganize the tables. Therefore I think that creating individual pages can be an end goal, but right now I’d focus on adding the internal data.—Mister Wu (talk) 08:20, December 16, 2019 (EST)
- I support splitting the different types. -- FanOfYoshi 08:28, December 16, 2019 (EST)
- Wow, I actually had no idea there was so much data involved. By the "it could all be in a table" logic, we could merge every TTYD badge page, too. I think the enemy cards are probably important enough to be split now, if we include all that info. Scrooge200 (talk) 13:52, December 16, 2019 (EST)
- We already have a list of all the badges in Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door, in table form. As I said before, both can coexist, there’s no need to get rid of this table.—Mister Wu (talk) 14:32, December 16, 2019 (EST)
- Huh, I didn't know about that. Well, then I don't want to get rid of this table anymore and instead want to split it into different pages while keeping the list. Scrooge200 (talk) 19:02, December 17, 2019 (EST)
- The badges still have their own separate articles. We even have separate articles on something as minor as key items. I think we should split these, along with the stickers from Paper Mario Sticker Star (while still keeping the tables). --DeepFriedCabbage 19:37, December 17, 2019 (EST)
- Yeah, I agree with the split for Sticker Star too, especially since that game has more Things and Sticker types, but I think we should do Color Splash first. Scrooge200 (talk) 19:39, December 17, 2019 (EST)
- If you just want to do individual pages for the Battle Cards, I think you can safely go on. Just remember that many attacks and Things stem from Paper Mario: Sticker Star, in those cases I suggest to add a short mention that they first appeared on that game to avoid blank sections or misleading information (i.e. suggesting that the attacks or Things were introduced in Paper Mario: Color Splash), with the full description then coming at a later time, once you finished covering the newer game.—Mister Wu (talk) 20:37, December 17, 2019 (EST)

I have started a proposal to resolve this issue. Scrooge200 (talk) 22:32, June 27, 2020 (EDT)
