*'''[[Prima Games]] Official Game Guide:''' ''The rightful ruler of the Shake Dimension, Queen Merelda has found herself in quite a pickle. She and her loyal subjects, the Merfles, have all been captured by the vile Shake King, who has seized control of this once-peaceful land. As if that weren't bad enough, the Shake King has stolen the realm's greatest treasure as well! That actually turns out to be a good thing, though-it's the only reason Wario decides to pitch in and lend a hand.''<ref>{{cite|isbn=978-0-7615-6113-2|author=Stratton, Steve|title=''Wario Land: Shake It!''
