Pinchlys first appear in the [[Beach]] world, and they later appear in the [[Ruins]] level, [[Mast Blast]], and in the [[Cliff]] world. They are most prominent in the Beach world. Like many other enemies, Pinchlys simply move from side to side, quicker than Snippys. If [[Donkey Kong]] and [[Diddy Kong]] get in contact with a Pinchly, it pinches them, and the [[Kong]]s lose a heart.

When Donkey Kong jumps on a Pinchly, it raises its pincers. During this, Donkey Kong can [[Ground Pound]] next to the Pinchly to flip it over. The Kongs can then jump on the Pinchly to defeat it. If the Kongs do not defeat the Pinchly quickly enough, it gets out the ground and resumes moving around. The Kongs can also defeat a Pinchly by rolling into it while its pincers are raised.
