Petey Piranha’s Shell Smackdown is a Boss Battle in Mario Party: Star Rush.

Intro[edit]

Petey Piranha falls down on the ground, which drops two Green Shells as he quickly stands up again. The players float down in a bubble each and just before the fight begins, all the bubbles pop.

Gameplay[edit]

As Petey Piranha jumps around, he causes Green Shells to fall. Players can pick up and toss Green Shells at Petey Piranha to score points. At times, Petey Piranha can use a spinning attack to deflect Green Shells. Other players can take hits for Green Shells; when that happens, the Green Shell gets used up and the player gets stunned. Players who touch Petey Piranha lose one point.

When Petey Piranha's health is halfway, he gets enraged. When he jumps, large Green Shells may fall along regular Green Shells; these Green Shells last longer than regular Green Shells and are worth more points if they hit Petey Piranha. During phase two, Petey Piranha attacks and jumps around more often. Whichever player deals the final blow to Petey Piranha earns an extra 3 bonus points. In Toad Scramble, Petey reveals a Star upon defeat.

Ending[edit]

Once the last shell hits him, Petey is sent flying onto his back and gives out one last grunt before exploding.
