Omanuke kin

Omanuke kin are germs that live on Mario, revealed in Super Mario-kun Volume 9. They look like bacteria with an unfocused expression and, since they belong to Mario, they have the M emblem on them.
After trapping Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi in a Mario Bros. arena, Bowser intends to release the battle kin to make them fight each other, but Mario is unaffected by them due to his omanuke kin absorbing and neutralizing the bad germs. After trying to restrain Luigi and Yoshi, a Super Mushroom lands on Mario's head, specifically on one of his omanuke kin, which grows and munches on Luigi and Yoshi, freeing them of the battle kin's influence.
Throughout the manga series, Mario is stated multiple times to be too dense and stupid to be affected by deadly attacks or even poison, potentially due to these germs protecting him.
