In her trailer, she is working in an office until she is given time for a break. She then receives a letter from nookipedia, and thanks him for his hard work. When she reads the note, she becomes surprised to learn she will be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a new fighter. After the trailer, she waves to the viewers hoping they will cheer her on in the game.

Isabelle is not seen in the opening cutscene of World of Light, but still appears as one of the puppet fighters nevertheless. Isabelle is later freed after her puppet fighter is defeated, and she subsequently joins Kirby's team against Galeem and later Dharkon.
In the Adventure mode, Isabelle is not seen when the fighters oppose Galeem for the first time, but she, like every fighter except Kirby, is hit by one of Galeem's beams of light and imprisoned in the World of Light, where a Galeem-serving "Puppet Fighter" (copy) of her is created. Isabelle is later freed after her Puppet Fighter is defeated, and she subsequently joins Kirby's team against Galeem and later Dharkon.

Isabelle is a lightweight fighter, being lighter than Peach and Daisy but heavier than Little Mac, while having the same weight as Young Link and Greninja.
