Eggo-Dils are enemies resembling daisies with smiley faces in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (and its reissue), Yoshi's Island DS, and Yoshi's New Island. Their name is a portmanteau of "egg" and "daffodil." Each Eggo-Dil has five yellow petals that spawn when a Yoshi draws near and rotate around the enemy for a while, being launched in different directions afterwards. After dispersing its petals, the Eggo-Dil's head shrinks itself and soon grows back with another set of petals, repeating the attack pattern. The petals of an Eggo-Dil can damage a Yoshi, but he can also swallow them and turn them into eggs. A Ground Pound performed on the same screen as an Eggo-Dil's head is able to shrink and stun the enemy, causing all of its petals to simply fall off. However, the enemy's head regrows itself as well as its petals soon after. A Chomp Rock can destroy the enemy permanently, as can a Giant Egg, which turns it into a star. An Eggo-Dil's face itself is harmless. | ||
