Ace Combat is a video game series published by Bandai Namco and developed by an internal division of the company named Project Aces. The games involve piloting military combat planes to accomplish various missions.
The 2015 release Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy+ features a number of plane variants themed after Nintendo characters, including several based off Super Mario characters.
Overview[edit]
Ace Combat games are mission-based flight combat games. The games are arcade-like in nature, featuring simplified controls and unrealistic elements such as planes carrying hundred of missiles.
Ace Combat's plots involve millitary conflicts in the setting of Strangereal, a world similar but not quite the same as real-world Earth. Despite the fictional setting, most of the plane roster is made up of real-world licensed military aircrafts.
