[[Tryclyde]], a boss in ''Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic'' and ''Super Mario Bros. 2'' resembles a three-headed Cobrat.

Their English name is a portmanteau of "brat" and "{{wp|cobra}}," snakes known for being {{wp|snake charming|charmed}} out of baskets through the use of an instrument called a {{wp|pungi}}. In ''[[Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic]]'' and ''[[Super Mario Bros. 2]]'', Cobrats [[jump]] out of the sand or [[jar]]s to attack, and most of them can spit out black projectiles similar to [[Snifit]]s. Cobrats that hide in jars attack immediately when they appear on the screen. They appear in the desert levels and are easy to defeat if in a line; the player can throw one and cause a domino effect. They can be avoided easily and only pose a threat when in large numbers.

In the ''Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic'' instruction booklet, it is said that Cobrats often appear in snake charmers' dreams.<ref name=charmer/> In the ''Super Mario Bros. 2'' instruction booklet, this was inexplicably changed to [[Toad]]'s dreams.<ref name=Toad/>

The jar immediately reappears after the shattered jar vanishes. As in ''Mario Pinball Land'', the snakes are colored green rather than red, and they make squawking noises while bearing a smiling expression when they leave their jars.
