Chomps are enemies in ''Donkey Kong Country''. They act like [[Bitesize]]s, swimming around in a slightly wavy fashion and damaging the Kongs on contact. A Chomps can be defeated only by [[Enguarde]]. In the ''[[Club Nintendo (German magazine)|Club Nintendo]]'' comic adaptation of [[Donkey Kong Country (comic)|''Donkey Kong Country'']], two Chomps try to attack [[Donkey Kong]] and [[Diddy Kong]]. They are supposedly a part of the "Chomp Police," a supposedly self-proclaimed position considering that other underwater creatures dislike them.

 

Chomps appear in the fourth chapter of the first volume of the ''[[Uho'uho Donkey-kun]]'' manga, where they are under the command of [[King K. Rool]]. Their appearance is different from that in the games, as they have no stripes. K. Rool rides one to discreetly follow Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong as they search for an underwater treasure. When they finally reach it, he reveals his presence and summons his army to defeat the Kongs and seize the treasure, including Chomps.

Chomps are enemies in ''[[Donkey Kong Land]]''.<ref name=guide>{{cite|title=''Super Donkey Kong GB Kōryaku Guide Book''|page={{file link|SuperDonkeyKongGB guide.jpg|9}}|publisher=[[Shogakukan]]|date=1995|language=ja}}</ref> They take on the appearance of a Chomps Jr. in-game, but keep their normal appearance in artwork.<ref name=guide/> These enemies roam the submerged parts of [[Kremlantis]] and cannot be defeated, like the other underwater enemies. Several Chomps are seen in the trailer for ''[[Donkey Kong Racing]]'' in the background of the logo, and underwater when [[Tiny Kong]] and Diddy Kong are riding on a regular [[Enguarde]] and a purple Enguarde.
