Is this the plural name or are they just individually referred as Chomps?Knife (talk) 15:44, 1 July 2007 (EDT)
The title's correct; they are individually called Chomps. ♣twombles♣ 15:51, 1 July 2007 (EDT)

The article says that the "Chomps Jr" in DKL are in fact Chomps because of a Japanese strategy guide. Considering that 1. They blatantly have Chomps Jr. sprites and 2. These games were made in the US first, it's pretty obvious that these are Chomps Jr and whoever made the strategy guide somehow thought that Rare made a mistake. - UK. Also, the manual mentions Chomps in stating that Fangfish is "bigger than Chomps, the ape-eating shark." Of them, only the blue size appears in-game, but Fangfish's size correlates directly to the green ones in DKC, so it's clear that the manual is referring to the ones that actually appear in the game. Meanwhile, Kremlantis's description states there are "plenty of Chomps and other biting fish swimming about," so again, definitely calling the one that appears in-game "Chomps." - Could also be that they simply dropped the "Jr." from the name due to the regular version not appearing. Could be considered a rename, I mean. Blinker (talk) 13:12, October 7, 2024 (EDT)
- They still use the normal version's artwork, unlike the situation with Mini-Necky in Donkey Kong Land 2. (Also note that the one in the much later Barrel Blast also appears to take more cues from Jr...) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 13:13, October 7, 2024 (EDT)
