After laying waste to a large number of enemies outside of the castle, a Birdo blocks Mario's path and shoots eggs at him as he tries to enter the castle. However, Mario quickly picks them up and throws them back, defeating this Birdo similarly to the Birdo in ''[[Super Mario Bros. 2]]''.
