The Birdo's Eggs of ''Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic'' and ''Super Mario Bros. 2'' are depicted plain white. They are spat usually by pink [[Birdo]]s but sometimes also Red Birdos, besides fireballs. Picking up eggs and throwing them at Birdo is usually the only way to damage her, but [[Mushroom Block]]s can as well if they are nearby. If a Birdo's Egg hits a wall, it rebounds very lightly and falls offscreen. The player character can ride on top of an egg, which is required at one point in [[World 4-3 (Super Mario Bros. 2)|World 4-3]] to cross a wide ocean gap. The [[Game Over]] screen in the ''[[Super Mario All-Stars]]'' and ''[[Super Mario Advance]]'' remakes both show Birdo holding an egg.

Giant eggs are spit by [[Robirdo]], a boss exclusive to ''Super Mario Advance''. They work the same as Birdo's Eggs, but the weight and size of them can make it take potentially longer to pick them up. While Birdo's Eggs do not appear in the ''[[Mario Bros. (Game Boy Advance)|Mario Bros.]]'' remake, the eggs in the game use nearly identical sprites.

Birdo's Eggs in ''[[BS Super Mario USA]]'' functioned similarly as before, though Birdos could throw several in the air, including sometimes larger ones. 

===''The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!''===
In ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]'', Birdos try to spit their eggs at the protagonists in some episodes.

In "[[Jungle Fever]]", one Birdo is able to use its egg to bring down an [[Albatoss]] carrying Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad.

In "[[Toad Warriors]]", King Koopa assigns three Birdos to act as the guns of his three [[State Troopa]] cars by firing eggs at the [[Rebel Fort]] while perched atop the vehicles. After the Mario Bros. arrive, King Koopa decides to use the [[Thunderbirdo]] to attack the fort. Thunderbirdo is driven in on another vehicle, controlled by [[Mouser]], where it proceeds to attack the fort with a gigantic, explosive egg. Afterwards, King Koopa uses normal Birdo fire until a rebel force, which includes Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad, leave the fort using a tanker full of spaghetti sauce as bait. 

In "[[Crocodile Mario]]" when Mario and Luigi pass by some [[Birdoroo|Birdoroos']] territory on a raft, several of them launch an onslaught of eggs in their direction, which they barely manage to dodge.

As seen in the ''[[Nintendo Comics System]]'' comics "[[Bedtime for Drain-Head]]" and "[[Betrayal Most Proper]]", after losing control of the [[Mushroom Kingdom]], Bowser employs Birdos as castle guards. Mario battles these guards on two occasions. Under the delusion that he is [[Dirk Drain-Head]] in "Bedtime for Drain-Head," Mario enters [[Bowser's Castle]] to save Toad. After laying waste to a large number of enemies outside of the castle, a Birdo blocks Mario's path and shoots eggs at him as he tries to enter the castle. However, Mario quickly picks them up and throws them back, defeating this Birdo similarly to the Birdo in ''[[Super Mario Bros. 2]]''.

The second encounter with Birdos occurs in "Betrayal Most Proper" as Mario and [[Toad]] attempt to rescue [[Wooster]], who are then attacked by Birdos in [[Bowser's Castle]]. When their movement becomes impaired by a conveyor belt moving in the opposite direction, the Birdos begin firing eggs. Rather than defeat the Birdos, they simply run off.

In ''[[Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars]]'', a Birdo hatches from a giant egg known as [[Shelly]], which is the first type of Birdo's Egg depicted with spots. Birdo can speak to Mario through the eggshell and requests a battle with him and his [[party member|partner]]s. Once the egg is damaged enough, Birdo hatches from it and proceeds to attack with explosive [[Eggbert]]s, rather than normal Birdo's Eggs. Birdo is shown holding a Birdo's Egg in battle but never uses it.

Birdo's Eggs are depicted as two-dimensional ''[[Super Mario All-Stars]]'' sprites in the stage [[Mushroom Kingdom II]] in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. They are spit by Birdo from the side of the stage, damaging players on contact. The eggs can be jumped upon and picked up by {{iw|smashwiki|fighter}}s and thrown to attack Birdo, much like in ''Super Mario Bros. 2''.

Birdo is seen with a Birdo's Egg in her trophy for ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' and a different one for ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Wii U]]''.

Birdo's Eggs only ever make minor appearances during Birdo's post-hole animations in the [[Mario Golf (series)|''Mario Golf'' series]]. Birdo spits out eggs to celebrate in ''[[Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour]]'' if she gets an eagle or better, whilst ''[[Mario Golf: World Tour]]'' only include them in her animation from achieving a Double Bogey or worse, in which she throws eggs at the camera before one bounces back and hits her.

When thrown, the eggs home in on the nearest drivers, flipping their [[kart]] if it hits before releasing three random items, which can include [[Bob-omb]]s, [[Super Star|Star]]s, [[Mushroom]]s, [[Red Shell|Red]] or [[Green Shell]]s, [[Fake Item Box]]es, or [[Banana]]s. Birdo's Eggs break if they hit items or course hazards and self-destruct automatically if they roam around for too long. Birdo's Eggs and the [[Green Fireball]] are the only two items that cannot be obtained by [[Petey Piranha]] and [[King Boo]].

Birdo can also inhale [[Popple]] to place him inside one of four protective but big deadly egg shields which are simply referred to simply as [[egg]]s. One egg holds Popple; the other three each contain Designbomb-like enemies that will rush forward after their egg is broken open and need to be jumped over. 

Birdo's Eggs returns in the [[Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions|Nintendo 3DS remake]], with the same role as in the original game. In the former game, it is [[Weird Ball]], in which the baseball becomes a Birdo's Egg that bounces on one side of the ground and then farther to the other side while passing the opponent, regardless of whether Birdo is pitching or batting. In ''Mario Super Sluggers'' only, a Birdo's Egg is included as part of [[Cannon Swing]], where Birdo spits an egg with pink bows printed on it before slamming it with her bat. Birdo's Eggs appear on some of Birdo's team logos and marks on Yoshi's team, [[Yoshi Eggs (team)|Yoshi Islanders]].
