Alpine Assault is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 8.
Alpine Assault is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 8, as well as a single-player minigame in Test for the Best.
__NOTOC__
Introduction
Beside an audience of cheering Goombas, the four players are on snowboards, behind the gate, ready to go.

Overview
Gameplay
The opening shows the player characters preparing as an audience of Goombas cheer them on.
The objective is to get down the hill first. The player controls themselves by turning the Wii Remote. On ramps, if the player presses wii or wii and turns, they get a boost of speed when they land. There are obstacles along the way, such as Mr. Blizzards, that can get in the way while the player goes down. The player who crosses the finish line first wins. If all four players cross the finish line at the same time or if five minutes pass, the minigame ends in a tie.

Players race down a hill on snowboards, turning the Wii Remote to steer, while avoiding obstacles like Mr. Blizzards. Players can get a boost off of a ramp by pressing wii or wii and turning. The player who reaches the end first wins, but if all four players end at once or nobody wins by five minutes, it is a tie.
Ending
All four players are at the bottom, the winner standing slightly in front of the others, with their boards standing in the snow. The winner does their victory dance, while the losers sulk. If the minigame ends in a tie, the players will be lined up by player order. The characters face the screen and perform their losing animations.
