Brown Yoshi

Brown Yoshis are a variety of Yoshi. Brown Yoshi appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island where he was playable in the sixth level of each world, and has made no appearance since with the obvious exception of Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3.

Appearance

Brown Yoshi's only playable appearances were in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. In Yoshi's Island, Brown Yoshi has a red saddle and red shoes. In the GBA port, Super Mario Advance 3, they wore red saddles again, but instead of red shoes, they wore darker brown shoes.

As told earlier, Brown Yoshis appeared first in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and in its remake.

One Brown Yoshi also cameoed in the game Yoshi's Story, in the intro, already on the first page. That one appeared behind a Purple Yoshi (which cameoed too in that game), which wore cyan shoes. The Brown Yoshi self wore green shoes, although hard to see, due to the green grass. It almost has been considered the player can unlock these two, but that was not true.

Confusion With Orange Yoshi

Due to the absence of Brown Yoshis in recent games, and with the prevalence of Orange Yoshis instead, many consider Brown Yoshi and Orange Yoshi to be one and the same.
