Nominated Articles Meeting Requirements
Articles must still be on list a week after being posted (see below) to be moved to the queue list or become a featured article immediately, depending on the queue.

What makes a featured article?
So just what makes a featured article? Well, we've prepared a list just in case someone should ask that, and it is as follows.
An article must...
- ...be well written and detailed
- ...be unbiased, non-point of view
- ...be sourced with all available sources and appearances
- ...be stylized fairly nicely
- ...not be tagged with any sort of improvement tags (i.e. {{rewrite-wikidump}}, {{rewrite}})
- ...not have a reasonable amount of red links; use common sense
- ...have a complete, detailed biography if it's a character article
- ...not have been previously featured
How to nominate:
- First, nominate an article you find is worthy of featured status, putting it at the bottom of the list below; see criteria above.
- Others will object to the nomination if they disagree that the article is good enough; they will then supply reasons for doing so, and ways to improve the article (errors, style, organization, images, notability, sources).
- Supporters can adjust the article until the objectors (with reasonable objections) are satisfied.
- The article is placed on the featured article list and added to the front page queue.
- Also, if, at least a week after the article's nomination, that article has 5 supports and no objections, it will be added the queue, and will be officially known as a "featured article".
How to vote:
- Before doing anything, be sure to read the article completely, keeping a sharp eye out for mistakes.
- Afterwards, compare the article to the criteria listed above, and then either support or object the article's nomination.
- If you object, please supply concrete reasons for doing so, and how it can be improved.
- As stated above, any objections will be looked upon by the nominator, supporters, and anyone willing to improve the article, and action will be taken to please the objectors.
- Once all objectors' complaints have been solved (or the article has 5 supports and no objections after at least a week), the article will be added to the queue and be officially known as a "featured article".

Hmmm... this is great! I was just about to start a HUGE edit on him.Knife (talk)
Kind of obvious, right? Phoenix Rider
Objections: Most of this article is just lists and images without much real content. Here are some places to improve upon: 1) Facts: What is the evidence that Mario Bros. takes place in Brooklyn? 2) Expansion: Overall, the Biography section could be expanded. Not every adventure has to be chronicled (although they could for absolute completeness), but major life events should be explained (such as the time Mario almost turned into a Bean!). A personality section could be added, as well as an occupation and hobbies section. A relationship section may also help, giving us insight into Mario’s relationships with other characters. 3) Organization of Sections: To follow the precedent made by other in-universe articles, all information about out-of-universe conception and creation by Shigeru Miyamoto should be placed in a separate section. A lot of the introduction could go into this section. Also information from the other media should be separated into different sections, as they present different representations of Mario (such as Mario’s full name being Mario Mario, which can only be inferred in the games and is only canonical in the Super Mario Bros. movie). -- Son of Suns
Huh, I think I took care of all your comments. The last one I COULD work on, but I'm not an expert on media. I did chronicle every one of Mario's adventures and even included sections where he was a damsel. I also added a relationship section with all other B8 characters. Any more suggestions?Knife (talk)
It's cool! It's long! And he's the one who this wiki's about! His biography section is 90% complete if not, complete...why not him being FA? Paper Jorge
I have to ask: what's wrong with an "obvious" article being an FA? Having a well-known topic thoroughly explained on the wiki is a great thing, not a bad thing. There may well be some strange fact about the topic that someone didn't know about at first. Wa TC@Y 18:51, 29 December 2006 (EST)
More Problems:
- Who said that Mario Bros. took place in Brooklyn? All of Mario’s games may have taken place in the Mushroom Kingdom and other places in the Mushroom World.
- Bowser did not necessarily die in all of Mario’s adventures. He was simply defeated (except with the Luigi’s Mansion controversy).
- There is also a lot of speculation in the biography section that needs to be removed.
- Grammar issues in the biography section. It is not quality prose.
- All the information in the introduction should be moved to different sections about out of universe character and name development. The intro should instead talk about Mario’s heroism in the Mushroom Kingdom.
- Mario’s early life as Baby Mario should be mentioned before other parts of his life. Not everything about Baby Mario should be mentioned, only a brief summary. A “Main Article: Baby Mario” link should be added in this section.
- Wrecking Crew information should be placed after Super Mario Bros., as the game was released after Super Mario Bros.
- More info could be added to the spin-offs, such as Mario Party and Mario Sports info.
- The physical description and traits section is more like an appearance development section and should be renamed and reformatted as such. Of course, a physical description and traits section needs to be added.
- The abilities section should be written in paragraph form.
-- Son of Suns
- The instruction manual of the game. Look it up.
- Wouldn't you die If you fell into a pit full of Lava?
- Other than in the Humble Beginings and Where's Mario? sub-sections, I see no specuation.
- What type of grammar are you talking about? There are NO spelling mistakes and the whole section is written in past tense. I do admit it is a bit confusing with the parenthesis but I have no idea how to overcome that.
- I AGREE, but I left that part alone for now.
- Okay, I will add that info.
- Isn't Wrecking Crew canonically before SMB?
- This really isn't my department.
- Makes sense...
- Gotta work on other sections too.
Agreed. You mainly mean the screenshot pics huh?Knife (talk)
- WRONG, Actually I mean the official Artwork. More Screenshots less artwork. Artwork gives it no flavor. Screenshots look more authentic WarioLoaf (talk)
- Actually. You should look it up. I've tried and I've never found a source that said Mario Bros. takes place in Brooklyn.
- Not necesarrily. He has a tough hide. He did die in New Super Mario Bros. though, but saying he died is too strong. Defeated would be much better.
- Stuff about Mario's House turning into Mario's Castle, etc. There is no proof that they are the same.
- Spelling is different than grammar. There are plenty of run-on sentences. The writing, overall, is sub-par.
- blank
- blank
- Not necessarily. The timeline is difficult, so it's better to place games in order of release unless it canonically makes sense to do so. You metioned that in the DK part. While Donkey Kong is not necesarliy Mario's first adventure, it is the first one we learned about. Likewise, we learned about Wrecking Crew after Super Mario Bros.
- blank
- blank (p.s. don't forget about the other sections mentioned in my orginal oppositions)
-- Son of Suns
- Hmm.. well basically, I imported the info from previous edits.
- He obviously did die. If he died in NSMB, it is likely he died in SMB. I agree that died is a strong word for it, but defeated at this point seems redundant.
- That was a confusing sentence huh? I meant that it probably was the inspiration for his house. You got me. But that wasn't speculation, just bad grammar.
- I tried to avoid making small sentences and overcomplicating it. Run-ons make things a little shorter. I purposely tried to cut down on length. Also, I tried not to put TOO much info about his game appearance, then it would be longer that the game description itself.
- No. Donkey Kong is canonically Mario's (not Baby Mario) first game. If it wasn't it would ruin the whole complexity of the Marioverse. The DK then was officially known as Cranky Kong. And Wrecking Crew (obviously happened afterwards)
And give me a little credit. This wasn't one easy edit, I actually had to work.Knife (talk)
Don't get me wrong. You made a great expansion of the Mario article. It's just not enough to push it to featured article status. The Mario article will probably be the hardest article to get FA-worthy on this wiki. -- Son of Suns

About the "too short" vote: There's a difference between Waluigi and Yoshi. Yoshi was made in 1991; Waluigi in 2000. Therefore, there's less to write about Waluigi.Waluigi Freak 99 18:01, 29 December 2006 (EST)
- Dude there are better articles. You just nominated this because hes your favorite not Quallity WarioLoaf (talk)
Yes, you are correct. He basically has no history, other than his appearance in sports games. I CAN give you my support, but you might want to improve upon these areas;
- Overall, I think his biography could be expanded a little. Break his biography into even smaller sections using ===<insert title name here>===. Try to model it after the Mario or Yoshi articles.
- The article has a LOTTA fan speculation. I'm not saying remove it all, but atleast remove the more ridiculous ones.
- It could use a gallery or atleast more pics.
On PP:BE, Yoshi is the exemplar article, not Waluigi. Wa TC@Y 22:12, 29 December 2006 (EST)
- WarioLoaf, please do not bring my ties to Waluigi into this. That has 'nothing to do with this. I've been away for a while. I returned and nominated him, before seeing articles such as Yoshi.
- Wayoshi, I was talking about your comment back months ago, which I now see is outdated.
- Knife, about the fan speculation, a lot of it is necessary to the article. Waluigi's relationship with Wario is important information to cover. Waluigi's possible ties to the Wrecking Crew is important information to cover. Waluigi's possible motives for going after Luigi is important information to cover.Waluigi Freak 99 09:09, 30 December 2006 (EST)
"Many fans were sad when a baby version of Waluigi did not appear in Yoshi's Island DS, although Baby Wario did. Some were also upset with Waluigi's absence in Super Mario 64 DS."
That is pure speculation. This isn't a wiki for opinions. Heck, some people wanted a Baby Daisy or a Baby Toad (weird I know). Again, in SM64 DS some people wanted other charcters in there. But why should Waluigi be speculated about?Knife (talk)
- Waluigi must be speculated about because he is very undeveloped. However, that thing about Baby Waluigi doesn't really belong there. I removed it.Waluigi Freak 99 13:58, 30 December 2006 (EST)
- They speculated him because You have tree of the four plumbers in the game, Waluigi is left out and they can't except that. Really there not putting him in any platformers because there afraid it might effect the success of the game he's be in. There only using him in the sports games and such. ROB has appeared in Warioware and Daisy has appered in platformers before. Dry Bones and even Toadette! Waluigi is just there to BE there. Thats why you have all these rumors about him. I just stated the obvious, didn't i?WarioLoaf (talk)
- That's true, WarioLoaf.Waluigi Freak 99 14:31, 30 December 2006 (EST)

Requirements
An article must...
1. ...be well written and detailed. It's well-written, and as detailed as you can get about Waluigi.
2. ...be unbiased, non-point of view It is now unbiased. Anything relating to criticism is made clear in the article that it is fan opinion.
3. ...be sourced with all available sources and appearances Done.
4. ...be stylized fairly nicely I think it meets this requirement. My twopence, anyway.
5. ...not be tagged with any sort of improvement tags None.
6. ...not have a reasonable amount of red links; use common sense All links are blue!
7. ...have a complete, detailed biography if it's a character article Once again, as detailed as you can get about Waluigi.
8. ...not have been previously featured Requirement met.
I believe that this article meets all requirements. If there are any objections, post them here.Waluigi Freak 99 16:11, 30 December 2006 (EST)
It is MUCH better than it was before, but not there yet...
Biography Section
1. However, the biography section could still be expanded. Move the Mario Party 3 info into the Biography section. Order his sub-sections in order. The sub-sections could also be renamed into more creative titles, be sure that the titles relate to the games their about.
2. The MP3 and DDR information should be expanded. They were practically his only real story entries. The Mario article has more information on DDR than Waluigi.
3. Overall, the Biography section should not contain fan speculation or game info. It should simply be about his adventures or villainous acts in the Marioverse. They should be moved to their proper sections. "Waluigi has yet to star in his own game, although Waluigi fan games have been made." What do fan games have to do with his biography or the article at all?
Speculation Problem
1. Since Waluigi is such a special case in terms of speculation, you might want to create a section like ==Speculation== and add sub-sections such as parts of the trivia and possible connections to Foreman Spike.
2. Get rid of the very ridiculous fan speculation. The article also repeats the same speculation over and over again. Fan Critism also should be put in ONE section just like Speculation. Maybe change the section, Critism to Fan Speculation. Lets remember not to be too opinionative.
3. I think a Wario Relationship section is needed. The article doesn't have much information on Wario and Waluigi's relationship. Again, this is a special case for Waluigi because of his "unknown" status.
Other Problems
1. The particular "Games" section is very raw. I think its name should be changed to something a little less redundant like Other Events. The Sports series and the Other series could be expanded alot. Just look at the Yoshi article.
2. Why is there no section for his Personality? Some of his personality is under the Physical Description and Traits section, though it doesn't belong there. Plus, the pesonality info could be expanded. Also, under Powers and Abilities, it could be expanded such as mentioning when he can use what, etc.
3. The pics are in the wrong places. Although not required, it would be nice if there was a pic under every single sub-section of his Biography. Some pics in the gallery could be moved up and it could use a few more uploaded pics.
Remember, I'm not looking for length, so please expand while getting rid of the useless info. Thanks and keep working on it.Knife (talk)

I'm not opposing, but I'm noticing the only supporter and therefore the creator the idea for the nomination has 'Yoshi' in his username.Mariofan132
Nothing personal but I just think Wayoshi nominated Yoshi because it is his favorite "character". Read the top. I know you didn't but still. Yoshi is thoroughly expanded and and explained, but... this isn't 100% determined on length. If thats true, I would've nominated Jump. I'm not opposing or supporting though.Knife (talk)
Needs a good quote WarioLoaf (talk)
Quotes aren't always necessary. Besides, I don't think Yoshi has ever said anything in English, barring SM64. This article has info on his appearances, his characteristics, and his abilities. Much work went into this article and I commemorate SoS for that. Definitely FA worthy. Phoenix Rider
I wouldn't exactly call "It's a-me, Mario!" one of the best quotes in the world either. It's just a signature phrase he says when you pick him in Mario Kart or something. I'm going over to Yoshi to put "Yoshi!" on there right now. - Mariofan132
