Frog Pirate

A Frog Pirate from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
Although they are frogs, they're not pirates. Frog Pirates live in the swamps and wetlands on Yoshi's Island in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. If a Yoshi comes too close to one, it will lash out it's tongue and steal Baby Mario. Stepping on its head only disables it for a moment, instead, try throwing an Egg.
The World 3 mid-boss Prince Froggy, swallows a Yoshi whole. He's the only major Frog Pirate known.
Frog Pirates in Yoshi's Island DS look a lot different. They are yellow and jump really high (making it hard for Yoshi to swallow them), then slide aways before jumping again. They are also displayed horizontially rather than the half-face forward Frog Pirates of Yoshi's Island (see picture above).
