Help[edit]

Is there anyone with better know how of DPL than me who can add the "if" thing to this, that way the HP & FP restored or the Damage dealt won't appear if we don't put {{hp}} or the {{fp}} tags? Mario riding YoshiXzelionETC

Notes[edit]

How about adding a optional "notes" to this template it's gonna help a little.

I had no idea this template existed until I went through all the recipe and item pages to prepare to add in the new table format. It's no surprise it took me so long to discover this, considering it's used on a whopping 2 pages: Koopa Pilaf and Primordial Dinner. The normal PM item infobox works perfectly fine for this, actually it's just better since it allows for the full descriptions to be added. So yeah, I think we should just ditch this template. It looks tasty, like layers of cake, but it's pointless, like layers of cake. Mario It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:56, January 10, 2025 (EST)

See the discussion above. This template, which is only used on 2 pages, inherently lacks detail compared to Template:PM item infobox, considering it can't include in-game descriptions (and neither Koopa Pilaf or Primordial Dinner have their descriptions anywhere on the page due to this) or effects other than HP and FP recovered. In addition, HP and FP recovered can differ depending on game, but the way that is displayed in this template is more confusing than anything. See the example for Cake given: HP restored is 0/10. At first glance, this just seems like it always recovers 0 HP, with 10 being the total HP of Mario, and not PM64/TTYD as is intended. It may be better to just explain the effects in each game in the main article itself, especially since these pages are so short to begin with, and because of the different gameplay mechanics of SPM.

Now, maybe this template could be revamped to be more akin to Template:PM badge infobox. I'm not sure how this would look exactly, but let me know in the comments if this would be something you're interested in. If so, I'll try cooking something up and make a new voting option.

Delete this template and replace with Template:PM item infobox[edit]

  1. Technetium (talk): As proposer.
  2. Sparks (talk) Primordial Dinner restores 0 FP apparently. This template can easily be replaced.
  3. Super Mario RPG (talk) How do we have a template that's used on just two pages? This could just be deleted instantly, in my opinion.
  4. Camwoodstock (talk) Frankly, if it's only being used on two articles, it seems like this template was about to delete itself. Per proposal.
  5. PalaceSwitcher (talk) This template has little reason to exist. Per proposal.
  6. Mario (talk) It looks tasty, like layers of cake, but it's pointless, like layers of cake.
  7. Jdtendo (talk) Per all.
  8. ThePowerPlayer (talk) Template:PM item infobox is literally using a recipe for its example. (On that note, said example should probably be changed to match its corresponding article.)
  9. SolemnStormcloud (talk) Per zesty Koopa cuisine. And per all.
