First appearance Virtual Boy Wario Land (1995)

Thorn-Ball[1] is a bumblebee-like enemy in Virtual Boy Wario Land. They appear in enclosed rooms in groups of two or three in Stage 13. Thorn-Balls have an opening on the top of their head from which they eject spiked balls. They are often in the foreground and background, where Wario cannot damage them. Wario can avoid damage by holding an enemy such as a Mask-Guy in between himself and the spiked ball, causing both the held enemy and the spiked ball to disappear.
