“Who dares to disturb his slumber? Not much of a morning person, Vase-Based will spear you if you wake him up. We suggest you let him sleep in.”
Vase-Based description, Nintendo Character Guide

Vase-Based[1] is an enemy in Virtual Boy Wario Land. It is encountered in Stage 10 only, particularly in certain hidden areas where a vase is found. Whenever a vase is tipped to the side by Wario, a Vase-Based is released and will begin to jump around the room, attempting to harm Wario with its three spears. Wario can stun a Vase-Based by jumping on the unprotected part of the creature’s head, which temporarily blunts its spears. Vase-Based can be defeated by any of Wario's attacks, although avoiding to touch its spikes. Wario can also defeat Vase-Based by picking it up and throwing it at the vase (although unlike most other enemies, it will not defeat the vase simultaneously).
