Talk:Vaulting Jump
Merge to Vaulting[edit]
The Vaulting Jump is kind of hard to think about independently from the Vault. It is an optional follow-up, but their mechanics are linked in such a way that talking about Vaults means talking about how the jump is set up. Why mention the player can vault over a switch if not because they have the option to hit it? Why mention shelled enemies retreat into their shell mid-vault, if not because the player can kick them? I think putting both articles together would create a better holistic view of the mechanic. Salmancer (talk) 11:18, September 6, 2024 (EDT)
Heck, the fact that technically vaulting can keep a chain of Stomps going, as listed on that article, doesn't make any sense as a mechanic without the Vaulting Jump. A Landing Roll without the Rolling Jump is fully functional, with a clear boundary where one mechanic ends and the next begins. A Vault without the Vaulting Jump is one half of a tool, and both concepts need the other because their mechanics work together. Salmancer (talk) 05:03, November 10, 2024 (EST)
