Chilling Magma is the final level in the Lava Lair in the Bowser Jr.'s Journey mode of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey. This is the only level to include the freezer location and it is one of the two levels to appear in only one location, the first one being Believe in Bowser.
Overview[edit]
Bowser Jr., Kamek, and Morton have finally reached the safe leading to the freezer. Kamek tells Bowser Jr. that he must stand in front of the door in order to enter. Bowser Jr. does this, as the door was designed to open only for him and his dad. The three enter and find the storage of where the Ever Ice was kept. Bowser Jr. finally remembers that he wants to eat the Ever Ice, but Kamek tells him not to. Suddenly, two Shroobs thaw out of the ice that melted and fall to the ground, starting a fight Bowser Jr., Kamek, and Morton without a thought. After the two Shroobs are defeated, Bowser Jr. gets a piece of the Ever Ice. With the ingredients of the Skeletone Formula:D now in his possession, Bowser Jr. asks Kamek if he has to crunch the ingredients down his teeth or if Bowser had gotten a shaved ice machine for him. Kamek tells Bowser Jr. that he does not know how to make the Skeletone, but has a friend in Blubble Lake that can. Before the three can leave, Kamek asks Bowser Jr. if he can make him a promise that he will help the minions and that his selfishness has been causing more problems for the army and that Bowser would appreciate it more if he saved them. Bowser Jr., not wanting to help out, tells Kamek it was boring. Kamek exclaims to Bowser Jr. that he must promise him to help his minions. Bowser Jr. tells Kamek to lighten up and leaves with Morton. With Morton being the only Koopaling tagging along with Bowser Jr., Kamek decides that it would be time for him to become a first officer, after which he can be used as such.
