The Federation Army[1] is the military forces of Earth in the year 2159, that was mentioned in the Solar Striker instruction booklet as the defense forces of Earth, whose base is located on the Moon: one of its member is SolarStriker pilot, the game's protagonist. In the Super Mario Land 4 manga, the game events are adapted, and the Federation makes a proper physical appearance.

It is led by Āreku Taichō, and the SolarStriker pilots are Marīo and Bichi-hime, Mario and Princess Peach's descendants. They are instructed to take down the invading Reticulon Army with the SolarStriker, following the "operation Power Pod" with a floppy disk the captain entrusted to them, but are accidentally sent to the past by their captain's ancestor and their own ancestors are dragged into the future, where they are mistaken for them and ordered to continue the mission.

While Mario and Peach are on their mission, Torino Daiō attacks and destroy the Federation base and kidnaps the captain (nothing is known about the whereabouts of the other members of the army). The captain is ultimately rescued after the Reticulon Army and Torino Daiō are defeated.
