Talk:Peach's Room

Um... do we need this article? It would seem better merged with the Peach's Castle article or if it were just deleted. Fawfulfury65

the same room?

Is this really the same room? It doesn't look too much like a bedroom to me rather than just and extra room added to the Ds version for the power star. The same goes to the "hidden" door on the out side of the castle that's supposed to have Waluigi.Mechayoshi (talk)

That is not a bed

How could anyone think that is a bed in the Rec Room's backroom it's obviously not seeing as it's in a corner doesn't have a pillow or blanket and is shaped like a couch. Does anyone else agree?--15avaughn 14:42, 27 June 2012 (EDT)

Create article(s) for the SM64DS character doors aka Mario Door (or Mario Room), Luigi Door (or Luigi Room), Wario Door (or Wario Room), and Empty Room (the white door)

The keys to unlock these doors (minus the empty room key) have their own separate articles so the actual doors should too. Even though the keys arguably serve the same purpose as the doors, it's the doors themselves that unlock the characters. (in the case of the empty room, give Mario a power star.)

Support

  1. Pizza Master (talk) Per my proposal.

Support (Create one page for all rooms under the title, "switching rooms")

  1. Pizza Master (talk) Secondary choice.
  2. ThePowerPlayer (talk) While the doors themselves aren't very distinct from one another, they collectively have a function unique enough to warrant their own article (the Tag Barrel shows that there is a precedent for this with a similar mechanic). This would also make the location of the secret Power Star in the white room easier to find on the wiki.
  3. Tails777 (talk) Well, if there's a name for them, I can't see why not. Really is no different than the Tag Barrel.
  4. Jdtendo (talk) Per all.
  5. Waddle Dingus (talk) Per all.

Oppose

#Super Mario RPG (talk) They are all components of Princess Peach's room, having little difference from one another. Giving each of them pages would be redundant.

  1. Shadow2 (talk) They're just doors, dude.

Comments

Just to clarify, if memory serves, I believe the actual in-game text refers to the white door as the "empty room".--Peppino Spaghetti Pizza Master Waluigi 21:38, September 16, 2024 (EDT)

Conflicted since these are basically the same deal as something like a Tag Barrel, but are just doors with rooms never seen. On one hand, this feels like it's leading to an article idea for rooms we never see and are basically gonna cover the character swapping mechanic for the game, which is kinda just easily covered on the game's article. On the other hand, that's kinda exactly what the Tag Barrel does. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tails777 Talk to me!Sprite of Daisy's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. In the manual (US), these are as a whole called "switching rooms" on page 27 and by Peach on page 35. I'd reccomend going with that. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:43, September 16, 2024 (EDT)

To prove the strength of the second support option, I made another sandbox page to showcase what it'd look like.--Peppino Spaghetti Pizza Master Waluigi 01:24, September 17, 2024 (EDT)

Issue with the citations: that's the British English page numbers you've cited on that sandbox page, despite labeling them as American English. I was talking about the manual I could see with my own eyes physically when I gave the page numbers above, so that would be the "American English" version.
