Coleco Industries, Inc. also known as simply Coleco, was an American video game and toy company founded in 1932 by Maurice Greenberg as The Connecticut Leather Company later was renamed to Coleco, On January 9, 1962.
In 1982 Nintendo allowed Coleco to port Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. on home consoles and tabletops. Even though Coleco only had the right to port these two games only on home consoles, they also ported Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. on their computer Coleco Adam. Coleco justified its existence in that it uses a ColecoVision cartridge as opposed to a cassette or floppy disk. Coleco Also created Donkey Kong Merchandise figures.
