Talk:Knuckles
I've never heard knuckles called knux.
I think it was in his official bio somewhere, but not in any games... ~Uniju(T-C-E)

- Other, non-Mario games. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
Yo, no one knows me, I know, but, should't we add his London Olympics info? It would be a big help to some people. Pinkolol16 05:38, 28 January 2012 (EST)

I disagree on giving Knuckles (Saturday Supercade) priority for the base name. Even though Knuckles the Echidna is a non-Mario character, the Mario & Sonic series is a prominent subseries of the franchise and he's still as likely a search as the rest of the series' cast, both the Mario side and Sonic side (just as many people would be looking for, say, Bowser's stats as they would Knuckles'). This is also a series where users are more likely to come here to find information (since the Mario franchise is literally half of it and the wiki itself is well-known) unlike Smash, and not even characters like Ike (The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!) and Steve (NES Open Tournament Golf) are given the same level of priority as what the Knuckles pages are going for (and those are with Smash characters). - Using a character's perceived prominence to decide whether they need an identifier or not should IMO only be exercized among characters that are all part of the franchises this wiki covers in full (Mario, Donkey Kong etc.), like how Bob-omb is prioritized over Bob-omb (Paper Mario: The Origami King) because the species is much more prominent than the one-off character. With crossover characters such as Knuckles the Echidna, the decision should be more cut and dry, because this is a Mario Wiki, not a Mario & Sonic Wiki. Saturday Supercade Knuckles is a character in the segment of a show that expands upon the Donkey Kong arcade game, making him a Donkey Kong/Mario character through and through by this wiki's coverage standards, and thus it's inherently in the wiki's interest to give him the red carpet treatment over the character who hails from a different franchise and only ever appears alongside Mario characters in an explicit crossover capacity. Ike (Super Show) and Steve (NES Golf) should have their identifiers removed as well, not just for the reasons stated before, but also for the fact that their namesake Smash characters have been pretty much reduced to redirects. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 07:18, July 7, 2024 (EDT)
