Classic Series, stylized as Classic Serie in some countries in Europe, is a marketable label that consisted of many reissues of Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy and Super Nintendo Entertainment System games. This marketing label was known as the Nintendo Classics on the Game Boy in some countries in Europe, and it was known as the Super Classic Series on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, being stylized as Super Classic Serie there. This was marketed to show the most popular games for said system, similar to how the Nintendo Selects series was later implemented.

Mario Bros.

  • Mario Bros. was one of the games that was in the Classic Series for the NES in 1993. However, unlike other games in the that were marketed with this label, this version of Mario Bros. was quite different to the original NES version.

Differences

  • The cutscenes from the arcade version have been reimplemented.
  • Mario can now turn a different direction while in midair, this feature originated Kaettekita Mario Bros..
  • The Shellcreeper's sprites look more similar to the arcade version. These sprites also originated from Kaettekita Mario Bros.
  • The Icicle enemies have been reimplemented.
  • The bonus stage with the invisible floor has been reimplemented.
