Editing User Talk Pages[edit]

I appreciate your removal of images that were replaced here but may I ask you to refrain from doing that? There is a rule here where you shouldn't modify the contents of what someone said on talk pages. I forget where but it is a rule here. Start here. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:37, 27 August 2016 (EDT)

I believe this is what you were looking for. Last paragraph in the "Where can I talk to others?" section. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 18:41, 27 August 2016 (EDT)

Moving Files[edit]

For the time being, can you refrain from moving files? There's a lot of shifting around of file names on pages and redirects to tag for deletion when you do it. It's hard to detect what needs to be modified without replacing the entire contents of the file redirect with {{delete}}. I am not particularly fond of Fawfulfury65 (talk)'s naming scheme all those years ago (65 in the file name), but there are many images to go through and is probably not worth the time to move all of them anyways. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:16, 12 April 2017 (EDT)

Can you please stop moving files? I am in the middle of a mass replacement of Donkey Kong Land 2 images! It would make everything easier if you didn't move them right now. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 19:53, 12 April 2017 (EDT)

I wasn't sure if you were going to change File:ND1abril29.jpg to File:Yarn Yoshi.jpg for pages that linked to it so I did it anyways. Based on previous moves, you never did. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 16:43, 16 April 2017 (EDT)

Thanks for waiting this time as I was replacing many Donkey Kong Country images and waiting for deletion to occur. It was just faster for me to change the extension since there were around 80 images. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 19:45, 19 October 2017 (EDT)

Warning[edit]

Warning.svg This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (moving pages and forgetting to mark the redirects with {{delete}}) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You've been asked about this before, but appear to have ignored it. When moving files, please mark the original page with {{delete}} so it shows up in Category:Pages to be deleted and a sysop can take care of it. Additionally, you need to change the coding of the file name on the pages they were linked to, as failure to do so will result in broken links or image redirects. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 14:36, 22 April 2017 (EDT)

Additionally, you don't need to move every image just to fix some grammar mistakes. Image names like "File:AAnimalB165.png" are confusing, so the rename is acceptable. Though image names like "File:GangplankGalleon.png" are fine as they still describe the subject well enough. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:40, 22 April 2017 (EDT)
To be fair, it's my fault for naming a file File:AAnimalB165.png and others like it. I actually have a good reason for it. I was mass replacing static GIFs and wrongful use of JPEG with high quality PNGs. Keeping track of ~50 changed file names would have been a nightmare editing all affected pages (like 10-20 different pages). To make things easy, I just created redlinks by changing extension only (*.gif, *.jpg, and *.jpeg to *.png) and uploading by clicking those redlinks. MarioWiki:Image use policy bullet point 2 was not violated in the process. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:55, 22 April 2017 (EDT)

Again, images that explain the subject well enough in the name, such as File:RazorRidge.png, File:Yoshi Story Surprise.png, etc. do not need to be moved. It is unnecessary. Please do not move files if they do not have to be moved, or else you will receive a last warning for continuing to ignore advice. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 20:38, 24 April 2017 (EDT)

Last warning for continuing to ignore the warning above.[edit]

This last warning has been overturned by the MarioWiki staff. The original warning can still be viewed.
Lastwarn.svg This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.
If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You have already been reminded about this a few times before, but have appeared to have ignored it. Please do NOT move image files that explain them well enough in the name, such as File:EllieBarrel.png or File:EndFlag.png. This is your last chance. If you continue to ignore this advice, you will be blocked temporarily from editing the wiki. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 15:52, 4 May 2017 (EDT)

This is not a warning, just a clarification: I redacted my statement in the section above and overturned this particular warning because we no longer stand by this, making them irrelevant (the example files Owen and I mentioned were moved). While images that explain the context well enough don't need to be moved, there is nothing wrong with clarification. That said, the file name change needs to be significant, not just a rearrangement or abbreviation of what's already there, or just adding spaces between the words (you haven't done this, that's just an example). The warnings above and below are still relevant. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 13:21, March 15, 2020 (EDT)

Image renamed[edit]

As seen from above, you been reminded and warned about changing file names without replacing them on pages. Please remember this or you'll be block next time. Alien Bunny Sprite.pngL151Onnanoko

To add, it's best to take it one level at a time instead of editing all pages at once and then perform the moves. Start at Jungle Hijinxs (Donkey Kong Country) and then use the left or right double arrows to navigate to the next level. Remember, some of the images are being used elsewhere. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 16:41, 22 October 2017 (EDT)

Ooh lets not do that[edit]

Hi. Please don't edit my sandbox, especially when I'm working. Even if there are dead links. Thaaaaanks. Trig - 09:09, December 4, 2019 (EST)

OK, I'll (try to) remember it! Thank you! Sincerely, Count Luigi (talk) 09:10, December 4, 2019 (EST)

Additionally, please do not flag any moved pages for deletion on my behalf. I will always get to deleting them and it's really difficult to manage everything I have if you keep messing with it. I'm okay with deleted links on the sandbox and moving your own files (which you appear to be more than sufficent with) but please do not interfere with the ones that I am actively doing. The Last, Last Warning[edit]

Lastwarn.svg This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.
If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You have been told repeatedly to stop moving files if you aren't going to appropriately fix the links. With the prior four or so that I just fixed for you, it seems you have no intent to correct this behavior. I insist to you that if you aren't going to do the process correctly, then do not move files. If you're unsure what to do, I am more than happy to help, and so is the guide on my page.

Furthermore, the files that you moved were intentionally not being moved until other files that linked to them were deleted. I did not want to move the files replacing the deleted variants because I like moving down my lists instead of having to dig around and find the one file that sticks out to delete it. Trig - 21:15, February 21, 2020 (EST)

Please stop flagging the files I am moving for deletion. It is not helpful. It creates more work on my part. I have asked you to not do this repeately. Trig - 13:11, March 15, 2020 (EDT)

Marked Redirects[edit]

It's pretty pointless to move a redirect's code over a deletion template, as it's just going to end up getting deleted anyway. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 17:05, March 18, 2020 (EDT)

But, when you put the delete template above the redirect, it feels like the image ia still been used by some page, when, in fact, it isn't. Hope you understand. Count Luigi (talk) 17:07, March 18, 2020 (EDT)
Any pages left over that can't be edited normally will be check through What links here. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 17:10, March 18, 2020 (EDT)
But you see why I'm doing this, don't you? Count Luigi (talk) 17:12, March 18, 2020 (EDT)
No, not really. The edit doesn't make a difference in whether a page links to it or not. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 17:15, March 18, 2020 (EDT)
OK, I understand it. I won't make it anymore. Count Luigi (talk) 17:17, March 18, 2020 (EDT)

Sockpuppet[edit]

Lastwarn.svg This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.
If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Hello, you have the same ip as Count Luigi Mario (talk). Multiple account on the wiki are not allowed, so the user has been blocked. Also, you cannot wipe your history by creating a new account. Despite receiving a last warning before, you are getting another and will not be blocked now, as per the blocking policy even users who sockpuppet after a block still receive a last warning instead regardless. Regardless, if you sockpuppet again, you will be blocked. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 17:33, March 22, 2020 (EDT)
