Talk:Luma (species)
- What is known about the Giant Luma in the Supermassive Galaxy?--Launchballer 09:23, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
Well, for one, it's giant. But also one or two quotes like "We grow 'em big here!" --You got Stung! By the Scorpion! 22:08, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm just wondering...should there be a specific name for the giant Lumas? I just think it would make sense, kind of like the Grand Paragoomba, Grand Goomba, Piranhacus Giganticus, etc. Maybe "Grand Luma"... PHOENIX (talk • edits) 01:32, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
No, coz they are normal Lumas, just, well, bigger. Anyway, since when was the shop Luma called Lumalee. I thought it was called Luma shop. And I know the song off by heart: Lumalee! Lumabop! Welcome to the Luma Shop!--Smileymiley5001 16:37, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Thats just what it says on the trading card... General bob-omb 12:27, 26 May 2011 (EDT)
Luma[edit]
i thought that Luma (the one in Mario/Luigi's hat) was an apricot Luma, not cream? Should i be thought apon? 86.149.63.1 15:01, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
- Well those two colors are about the same, so you weren't that illogical Ray Trace(T|C) 15:02, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
ok. good enough, but what about Polari? is he dark brown of black? he always looked black to me. 86.149.63.1 15:04, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
- He looks black when you first see him, but if you look at him more closely, you can tell he's dark brown. It's a bit hard to tell at a glance. You can say the same for Mario's mustache: it appears black, but closer inspection reveals that it is actually very dark brown. Ray Trace(T|C) 15:07, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
um.... the official cards say he is apricot. i see they are the same colour, but it is the official name, so should we change it to the official name? sorry to be a pain.86.149.63.1 15:09, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
- If the color comes from an official source, change it to that. Make sure you say so in your edit summary. You're not a pain, I like answering other people's questions if I am able to. Ray Trace(T|C) 15:11, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
done, thanks.86.149.63.1 15:15, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
wait.... is Luma the same colour as Rosalina's hair? a secret maybe? 86.149.63.1 15:15, 3 April 2013 (EDT)

keep together 1-16
I know I am not the best at making decent proposals, but this one I actually care about. I know different luma colors don't have official names, and are nothing but minor NPC, but the way they aid Mario, their personalities, and even their function and fate is very different. It may be minor, but there will be enough information for this not to be a stub. If necessary I could even list every galaxy these colors appear in. The point is, we should have done this a long time ago. We already have things like hungry luma!
Examples of luma differences:
- Blue Luma: Less happy then Yellow, turns into pull stars, trivia: Only main color not to have a power star colored like this.
- Green Luma: Mysterious, hosts the green star challenge, we could easily right about the trial galaxies and green star challange of galaxy 2 here!
- Red Luma: This is a character. There is only one such luma ever seen, and he gaurds the red star. He is arrogant. He needs an article.

Support[edit]
- Toadbrigade5 (talk) Per proposal. Also, we have pages for colored yoshis (Thanks Mario Comix) so why not lumas?
Oppose[edit]
- MarioComix (talk) Well the thing is, other species pages aren't split even though there are specifics about them. Also, the personality traits you've attributed are completely arbitrary (except the Red Luma); it's not like the Blue Lumas are blatantly sad (ex. Oh, I'll never eat another Star Bit!) Also, any information on each colour isn't too much to put on this main article. Most of the info is already there. It's not like we have a page for Black Yoshi and it talks about how it likes whatever fruit from Yoshi's Story. Regarding the Red Luma, it's hard to say if it's a specific character, I'm pretty sure there is another in the Gateway Galaxy but I may be mistaken.
- Misty (talk) – I agree with MarioComix.
- Vommack (talk) They each get part of a sentence in this article. That's all they get for a reason. There's nothing to say for any of them, we'll just end up with three new stubs to delete.
- Ninelevendo (talk) Just like my comment about Koopa Kid, if this came through, Antasma/Cackleta Bats would have their own page. A wiki doesn't think that the more pages, the better, as that isn't necessary true.
- Walkazo (talk) - Per all. We don't have pages for different coloured Koopa Troopas, Birdos, Cheep-Cheeps, etc. - like here, there's just not enough cause for so many splits.
- Stonehill (talk) The articles would all be stubs if the TPP passes.
- Tsunami (talk) After splitting, what should we put in those articles? Per all.
- Koopakoolklub (talk) There aren't enough differences or enough information.
- SuperYoshiBros (talk) Per all.
- Ghost Jam (talk) Per all.
- AwesomeLuigi (talk) Per all.
- Viper26 (talk) Per all.
- Randombob-omb4761 (talk) Per all.

- The Easter Azumarill (talk) No no no, they are just colour palettes, so per all on this.

Comments[edit]
Unlike giant star, this is something I actually care about. This isn't a suggestion. Toadbrigade5 (talk) 19:01, 5 July 2014 (EDT)
MarioComix, I am not saying blue lumas are sad, well I did, but I shouldn't, but they unlike Yellow Lumas are never seen actually happy, more saying useful or complaining things. But the functions are still true, and all other personalities. Wiki is ment to have many pages so I think this is a good idea.
- For them never being happy, it's more likely a coincidence that they're always giving advice, especially since the Yellow Lumas are more common and more likely to appear happy. Although they hold different functions, it's not what makes them the Blue Luma or Yellow Luma. The Lumas could all have been yellow if they wanted to make them like that (like Toads in SM64). Although each colour has different attributes, there aren't enough and they aren't significant enough to warrant new pages; how it is now is fine. MarioComix (talk) 23:09, 5 July 2014 (EDT)
@ToadBrigade: Different Yoshi colors(well, most of them, at least) have characteristics other than being a different color to set them apart.--Vommack (talk) 22:23, 5 July 2014 (EDT)
Okay, guys, hows this, If I can create three pages for these that ARENT stubs and make sense and are at least 500 words long, then will it be accepted? Toadbrigade5 (talk) 23:32, 5 July 2014 (EDT)
- (1 There's not enough info to do that without repetition and flowery writing, even making a list of all the colours you would find. 2) There is enough characteristics or certain characters that would qualify for an article anyway. - 23:51, 5 July 2014 (EDT)
- And if I prove you wrong, will you let it stay?
- The point is, even if you had heaps of info, there's not enough distinguishing characteristics between them all besides the thing they turn into. - 00:37, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, let me write it first, and then you can say if there isn't enough distinguish. I don't mean to be stubborn, but Galaxy was and is my favortie game, and I mean to make this real. If I can make such a page that is decent, satisfies you, and maybe some others, then it can stay, other wise, I guess nothing happens.Toadbrigade5 (talk) 01:49, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
- Deal? If so tell me on my talk page, I am willing to be banned if you don't like it. Toadbrigade5 (talk) 01:49, 6 July 2014 (EDT)

If anyone is wondering why we have Hungry Luma, see this old proposal. Unlike these Lumas, however, they have a different purpose, shape and many other things. - 02:27, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
You can't close a proposal if either the support or oppose side have five or more votes.--Vommack (talk) 15:53, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
No, I made a deal with @Ninelevendo saying that if I can get a decent page for the colors, then they can stay, but otherwise I am to be banned(I threw that in myself, I have my reasons).Toadbrigade5 (talk) 15:55, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
- ...I'm sorry, but that may be the single most ridiculous reason for a ban, self-imposed or otherwise, I have ever seen. And a "deal" that two users made does not override the rules of the wiki.--Vommack (talk) 15:59, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
- I know, but the reason for the ban isn't the rules of wiki, its more of me and what I decided, as for the the "deal", if the page is good enough to satisfy the users, then perhaps it can stay. If it's decent. I am working on the pages, and I'll let you take a look as well. If it pleases you, then will you give it a chance? Thats all I am asking for.
- Uhhhhhh...... The "Deal" was, make the draft, show it to us, and we might change our opinions. That's how proposals work. - 16:56, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
- Also, we're not going to ban you over crap like that. If you wish to leave due to the outcome of the deal, that's up to you, but you'll not be formally banned for it. -- Ghost Jam 18:14, 11 July 2014 (EDT)

Remove the identifier from this article and possibly move Luma (character) to Baby Luma[edit]

Remove the identifier from this article and move Luma (character) to Baby Luma 7-2-0
At this point, the species is far more prominent than the character, who has only made a few cameos after the Galaxy games. The Luma character isn't even a generic representation of his species like Toad and Yoshi are, being apricot-colored and slightly smaller than the "standard" Lumas, which are yellow. There's also a legitimate case for moving the Luma character to "Baby Luma", since that's his name in the Galaxy 2 manual and his Smash Wii U trophy (the description calls him "Little Luma", but the trophy itself is named "Baby Luma", and he isn't called "Little Luma" anywhere else). Him being referred to as just "Luma" is comparable to Baby Mario just being called "Mario" or "baby Mario" in Yoshi's Island (or "Young Master Mario" in Partners in Time). That move would render this article's identifier completely unnecessary, but either way, I don't think it needs one since it is the more prominent subject.

Remove the identifier from this article and move Luma (character) to Baby Luma[edit]
- 7feetunder (talk) Per proposal.
- MarioComix (talk) Per proposal. Also consider that Honey Queen was moved from Queen Bee despite having that name in 2 games as "Honey Queen" became her more prominent name after being in use in only 1 game. So, "Baby Luma" being used in multiple, more recent games than simply "Luma" should be grounds enough.

- BBQ Turtle (talk) Per all, this is something that's bothered me for a while.
